Probably gonna be a mostly quiet week for me as far as posting or doing anything, Friday is the wedding day and all my family and a friend are coming out this way, so I'll be busy. I know I'm not like a content machine, but just letting folks know I didn't just disappear back to the other place LOL.
hoping to finish this comm I have tonight, and so I'm gonna get to work and also listen to Evil Island's debut album I am really excited to hear the full thing.
Anyway I'm playing a game I've never played before for the first time - Valkyrie Profile for the ps1. Which i am not playing on actual hardware because some games are just too expensive, especially for ones I'm unsure I will like. Anyway it rules - I'm not super far in it yet, only on chapter 3.
It's crazy that now people are more receptive to the "I didn't like BOTW" takes. I've expressed my disappointment since it came out, I've been consistent on that, and people used to get real mad. I'm not even against the team playing with the formula. I just didn't like the mechanics they used.
You know my answer if you've been following for a while. It's BOTW. I had fun exploring Hyrule - then it came time for me to engage with the combat and "dungeons" and I hated it.

The cool thing about heart stuff and having to take heart medications is the times when it just goes nuts for a bit, gotta lay down to get it to eventually stop, and then get really tired because it just felt like you ran a bunch lol. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes. Way less than it used to
I'm running a balanced build. Just don't ask me to wait.

Just saw the spidey movie and I really enjoyed it. Recency bias may be at play but it might just be my fave one now. At the very least I can say it was my fave Tom holland spiderman film.
Been so busy but tomorrow I'm gonna go see spider man in the morning and then I can continue working on my commission in my queue in the afternoon.
Next album to hit that I'm excited for is Evil Island's debut album "Terraform The Afterlife". Evil Island is basically the sequel/spiritual successor band to The Blood Brothers and all the songs released so far have ruled.
Listened to the new Cancer Bats album today while doing cardio, it is a fucking ripper. While I've enjoyed all their albums, some of their more recent ones were lacking a tiny bit of something for me, but the whole band sounds super refreshed and super good on this. One of their best records imo.
A long time ago I used to really like Rise Against (high school days). Honestly those albums still are pretty good imo. Saw them live once as an opener for Billy Talent in 2007, they sounded great then - so I looked em up to see what they sound like live now And good god they can't keep time.
A good feature for once (but should have been here way sooner imo). Currently I have all reposts turned off, and have been waiting for this so I can curate that.

Things are getting busy as the wedding approaches haha, sorry for lack of stuff. I am gonna try to power thru remaining work stuff as best as I can as well. I plan to launch my web store sometime after the wedding cuz to do it right now would probably overload my brain.

ultimately I think everything feels like a struggle right now because I am depressed haha. I told Lyn its better I'm having this episode right now, cuz it comes and goes in waves and so in a few weeks time at our wedding I'm gonna probably be extremely happy.
I wish it was easier to find solutions to issues I want to learn to solve in gamemaker beyond "just use scribble" or some other text related library haha. I get the libraries are there but i always want to learn things about the engine I'm using and right now text and text management is important.
Feeling a bit stuck with gamemaker right now. I want to use/try GMRT but right now it fails to compile my project, but because I'm so early in dev still as far as still making back end stuff I don't know how much I'm making now will be made obsolete. I want to use the new GMRT features asap.
