Storm Chasers

I'm an independent journalist that's been covering the WNBA and the Seattle Storm since 2015. I want to be your #1 choice for Seattle Storm coverage.

I had this to say about the Atlanta Dream when I wrote this article on September 26th. All of this has come true and the Atlanta Dream are now headed to the #WNBA Finals after sweeping the New York Liberty (3-0) and winning Game 3 by a score of 85-83.

I wrote in my article on September 26th that the Atlanta Dream were a sleeper to win the WNBA title and their best path was beating the Mystics in Round 1 and the Liberty in Round 2. That's exactly what has happened.

Golden State needed that win more. They hang on to win 83-81. The Valkyries are now one win away from advancing to the #WNBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. GSV leads the series 2-0. The Las Vegas Aces are now on the brink of elimination.

WOW ... the ending, that is crazy. The New York Liberty supposedly had their reset timeout and didn't use it. I have no idea how that's possible. Angel Reese with some major clutch free throws. The Atlanta Dream take a 2-0 series lead and they're one win away from a trip to the #WNBA Finals.

FINAL: The Golden State Valkyries defeat the Las Vegas Aces 71-60. Both home teams held serve in Game 1 of the semifinals. Gabby Williams led GSV with 25 points and 11 rebounds. A'ja Wilson led the Aces with 24 points, but only 4 rebounds. Valks out-rebounded them 52-25. #WNBA

FINAL: The Atlanta Dream defeat the New York Liberty 92-82. They turned the tide in the 3rd period when they outscored New York 32-15. Jordin Canada led with 25 points and 5 steals. DeWanna Bonner with 23 points off the bench. Sabrina led NYL with 27 points. #WNBA

The New York Liberty lead the Atlanta Dream 40-37 at the half. The biggest story is that Allisha Gray injured her shooting hand, tried to come back, hurt it again, and is now ruled out. Sabrina Ionescu leads NYL with 12 points. DeWanna Bonner leads the Dream with 12 pts. #WNBA

Gabby Williams will send the Golden State Valkyries to the #WNBA Semifinals to face the Las Vegas Aces. The Valkyries win their first-ever playoff series. They trailed by 16 in the 3rd quarter and rallied to win 77-73. Veronica Burton made some incredible hustle plays too.

I always enjoy talking hoops with Tyler. We discussed the Aces/Fever playoff series and more of the #WNBA playoffs as we near the semifinals. Can anyone stop A’ja Wilson and the Aces?

A'ja Wilson's dominance in series-clinching games continues as the Aces advance past the Fever. @wnbastormchasers.bsky.social joined me to discuss the IND-LV series and grading Caitlin Clark's 2nd playoff series Apple: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a... Spotify: open.spotify.com/episode/4tq8...

HALFTIME: The Las Vegas Aces lead the Indiana Fever 54-48. A'ja Wilson leads all scorers with 21 points. Jewell Loyd with 11 points and Jackie Young added 10. Caitlin Clark leads the Fever with 13 points. Aliyah Boston 11 points & 7 rebounds. Kelsey Mitchell 10 points. #WNBA

This is a nightmare scenario for the Minnesota Lynx. They would have been better off falling to the #2 seed and facing the Dallas Wings. Now they are on the verge of being swept in the first round of the playoffs by the New York Liberty after going 33-11 on the season. #WNBA

The Golden State Valkyries cruise to an easy 104-80 victory over the Dallas Wings. Cecilia Zandalasini led GSV with 22 points. Gabby Williams had 20 points, and Tiffany Hayes added 21 points off the bench. Paige Bueckers led the Wings with 21 points. Kitija Laksa 11 points. #WNBA

The Las Vegas Aces easily defeat the Indiana Fever 102-85. They led by 27 points in the 2nd half. A'ja Wilson led with 38 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Jackie Young added 21 points and 10 assists. Chelsea Gray 14 points & 8 assists. Aliyah Boston 18 & 8, Caitlin Clark 15/10. #WNBA

The New York Liberty pull off the upset and defeat the Minnesota Lynx 91-75. Stewie led the way with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. Leonie Fiebich added 16 points & 8 rebounds. Nia Brodie (Coffey) led the Lynx with 16 points. #WNBA

Despite a slow start, the Atlanta Dream rallied in the 2nd half to defeat the Washington Mystics 92-77. Rhyne Howard led the way with 26 points and 5 steals. Allisha Gray added 22 points. Sonia Citron led D.C. with 25 points. Kiki Iriafen had 15 points and 14 rebounds. #WNBA

Flau’jae Johnson was named to the All Rookie Team for the AP vote. Awa Fam did not make the cut. This is for the AP awards. We’ll see if the #WNBA league awards match this. It felt to me that Flau’jae was a lock and Awa was going to be 50/50 or so. Miles, Johnson, Fudd, Taylor, Astier, and Rice.

Ezi Magbegor confirmed that she will have surgery tomorrow on her torn ACL. Uncertain if she’ll play next season, because ACL recovery can be 12+ months. She’ll see how the recovery is going with initial rehab the first few months. #WNBA
