Alberta physicians standing up for patients’ rights to care and physicians’ ethical duty to care 👇 The UCP have gone too far with their government overreach into your healthcare.

@cmadocs.bsky.social and 3 Alberta doctors filed with Alberta Court of King’s Bench for judicial review of Bill 26 known as “gender-care legislation.” Interference in the relationship between doctors and patients through legislation is overreach. www.albertadoctors.org/news/publica...

An historic legal challenge from Canada’s physicians’ association to the Alberta government. Bill 26 is harmful to gender diverse patients and sets a dangerous precedent of putting politicians in the exam room, overruling patient’s decisions that they have made with their doctors.

While we wish it wasn’t necessary, the Canadian Medical Association has joined three Alberta doctors in filing a constitutional challenge to Alberta’s Bill 26, to protect the relationship between patients, their families and doctors when it comes to making treatment decisions.

“Ms. Smith, transparently, has been attempting an Andy Bernard play for the past several months, kissing up to the Trump entourage out of naked self-interest while kneecapping what she decided was her competition: the rest of the country.” www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/opi...

Opinion: Does Danielle Smith know we can all see and hear her?

The Alberta Premier’s spectacle of naked self-interest has been broadcast for all to see. Does she think everyone’s too stupid to notice?

A few important reminders about measles: 1. It’s one of the most contagious diseases on the planet and is spread by airborne transmission. 2. Measles lasts in the air for hours after the infected person has left the room. 3. Two doses of the MMR vaccine offer over 95% protection. /1

Premier talked about paying higher rates so they can pay for the cost of building the CSF Debate exists if taxpayers should pay for any/all of the infrastructure costs BUT, consider this: does it make sense to pay for CSFs if Hospital ORs sitting empty? https://buff.ly/3XcssSG

With all going on in Alberta politics regarding the healthcare system right now… … your reminder that the care you receive is directly thanks to the amazing humans who work on the frontlines: the nurses, the doctors, the clerical staff, allied health, support workers 💖🧑‍⚕️

I seem to recall back in the day Rick Mercer did a bit with a chalkboard to explain complicated political "situations"... wonder if we could get someone to do this for us now? (personally think @lisab0923.bsky.social would do an amazing job laying it all out!)

SCOOP: AB Health Minister Adriana LaGrange stripped Alberta Health Services of power to negotiate after its then-CEO allegedly refused to sign pricey deals www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/alber... #abpoli #ableg

The Health Sciences Association of Alberta is calling for an investigation following The Globe's story on allegations of political interference and private surgical contracts at Alberta Health Services. “This isn’t just mismanagement—it’s a scandal," Mike Parker, HSAA's president, said.
