Emily Wilson whenever someone brings up the fact that she’s the first woman to translate “The Odyssey” or calls her translation “feminist.”
It’s so funny when people pretend that they’ve seen classic films, but they can only speak in depth about movies that have been nominated for Oscars in the past 10 years.
If you’re looking for a movie this year that puts a modern spin on Greek mythology and expertly explores political power and hubris, I have one for you:
He was giving me James Spader in this performance (highly complimentary, of course).
Loved individual sections of THE ODYSSEY, but as an adaptation of something known for its rhythm, it’s incredibly clunky. Samantha Morton is an incredible Circe. More thoughts to come about specific sections as more people see it.
One of the greatest winners of the Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
With all of the issues that Nolan has had writing women, I’m very curious to see how he tackles “The Odyssey.” Even more curious to see how many women review the film.
A joy to get to talk about one of my favorite movies with @shhhitsgavin.bsky.social and @chels725.bsky.social!

Absolutely obsessed with the new cat my sister is getting 💖
I have to say, it’s been really depressing to see so many women in particular enforcing what they still don’t see to be a conservative agenda. Marriage is still apparently an end goal that will ultimately give your life meaning.
The wretched excess of the Swift wedding (shutting down city blocks during a holiday weekend, etc) in the current climate makes me think of the French Revolution ngl
Fingers crossed that the people around me today choose to wear the deodorant with the chemicals
Can’t wait to see this again tonight. The opening alone makes it feel like a movie Diane Keaton would’ve been in in the ‘70s.
The end of June really has become just an annual barrage of terror from SCOTUS

We have made it to the ‘80s in the Supporting Actress winners watch…
The streets in my neighborhood can only be described as Bedford Falls at the end of It’s A Wonderful Life. Greatest city in the world!
Translation for non-sports people: Moonlight has just beaten La La Land for Best Picture.
Obsession’s fanbase makes the people with the Wicked bubble profile pics from last year look tame.
New York is like NETWORK tonight. Apartment windows are opening and people are screaming about their Knicks. Greatest city on earth.
