“If a king cannot rule over his own family,” her father often said, “how can he rule over a kingdom?” Beleza, from fantasy synth artist @skyloremusic.bsky.social, tells the story of a princess reclaiming agency in a patriarchal society, which transcends both time & reality itself.
Hadestown is alright. The music and performances are great, but some of the lyrics are repetitive (yes, we know Orpheus was a poor boy!), it’s a bit too long, and the guy who plays Orpheus doesn’t have much charisma. But it’s not completely terrible.
If Kirkmas teaches us anything, it’s that if you don’t want your death to inspire funny memes, maybe try not being a racist, sexist, and anti-LGBTQ asshole.

Besides music, I also act, and a few weeks ago I was in an original play written by my friend Liv called “The Waiting Room.” It was amazing! I played Gabriel, a smart-ass punk who, despite his knack for busting balls, genuinely cares about the little guy.
