Its so silly when people use LARPer and Tourist as insults. When the characteristics of both include: -Literally touching grass -Going out of comfort zones -Research and Learning about new places, history, and people -Experiencing culture and traditions outside their everyday circle Oh that's why
Cat without a K

LARPer, LARP-runner, nerd, possibly a cat. Definitely a tech-powered elf. Absolutely crazy about food.
Downgrade a movie: To Gently Admonish a Mockingbird
Mission: Very Difficult But Not Unrealistic
Downgrade a movie: It’s An Okay Life (I feel bad about that one)
Downgrade a movie: The Girl with the Temporary Tattoo
Potion Craft. Yeah I’d be pretty ok if I had to live in that world for a year. Cozy cottage, beautiful and practical garden, robust small business…. Sounds lovely tbh.
You're offered $250,000,000 but to claim it you must enter the last video game you've played and stay there for a full year. How are y'all faring in this deal?
Home and rested from Belleteyn by @efimeralevents.bsky.social and wow. I thought I knew what magic was but this past event blew all my previous experiences out of the water. I’ve never cried so much or more cathartically at a game, and the org did a great job of providing a safe place to dig deep.
I’ve wanted one of these for a while now and Costco finally enabled me with a really good price lol. We’ve got honey-lavender ice cream in the freezer right now :3
Our coffee grinder was nonfunctional today due to a blown fuse so my lovely partner whom I love more than anyone else ground coffee using our hand grinder. The same one I use to grind Szechuan peppercorn. Today’s coffee was an *experience*.
“Kids books” from my life include Jurassic Park, Hot Zone, Andromeda Strain, and Hunt for Red October, largely bc my parents couldn’t (wouldn’t?) stop me from raiding their library. Anyways, let kids read whatever, and answer the questions they inevitably have.
The big literary discourse on twitter right now is whether The Hobbit—a children’s book that won children’s lit awards and was literally written for the author’s children—is appropriate reading for children or in fact such a difficult book most adults can’t “get their head around” it.
I’ve logged so many hours in this delightful game. The updates over the last couple years have added so much, the gameplay is incredibly repeatable, and the roguelike elements allow for meaningful progression both in mechanics and story without feeling punishing. Definitely give it a try.

It’s been a good few years since I made a homemade caramel sauce, but I’ve still got the magic!
It’s a testament to our values as gamerunners that almost all the critical information is related to either safety or game logistics. I could write a tome about this, but some of the most fun larps I’ve ever played had absolutely crap rulesets. The fun came from culture and feeling safe to explore
A frequent saying amongst staff at my LARP: players don't read. We have a relatively small window for "absolutely critical information attendees MUST know prior to attending" and everything else we just hope and dream they'll absorb eventually by playing.
i will not stand for "larp" becoming the new "poser". there is nothing in this world that requires more genuine unbridled passion in the face of people calling you a total nerd than live-action roleplay
Got a handful of lovely stickers from @mcapriglioneart.bsky.social that accurately communicate the current mood. Cat for scale.
What people need to understand is that this is solely in response to an executive order. No law or regulation has changed. If Trump writes another executive order targeting adults tomorrow, trans people cannot trust that our state and local governments will fight for us when they won't for youth.
1. In a move that is likely to be seen as capitulation to Trump, EITM can confirm that Mamdani's first ever trans direct care clinic will deny care to those under 19 years of age, the age from Trump's anti-trans EOs. It is a far cry from his pledge to "use every tool" to fight capitulation.
Me: gets up, greets the cats, starts getting ready to do the morning ritual of making my partner a latte My cat: posts up on the mat in front of the coffee machine and hocks a massive hairball right as I get there. THANKS TORNADO
In the same vein: no amount of working on your own shit and striving to be better will make other people fix *their* behavior. They have to want to change. If they're not changing, it's not bc you're not trying hard enough. They might react positively to your effort but that's not the same thing.
You can't bully yourself into being better, whether it's learning a new skill or regulating your emotions. Getting better only happens with practice, patience, kindness and time. There is a little kid in you that didn't get those things when they needed them most, don't ignore them, hold their hand.
He’s my little guy. Alternatively, the most recent cat as well as the most recent Cat. Now fulfill your obligations to the cat checkpoint and relinquish the most recent cat pic on your phone!
This is a cat checkpoint; relinquish your most recent cat picture on your phone a restaurant cat that REALLY wanted a piece of my fish (she got it 🐱)
I love when review systems go both ways, like when artists can review clients in the same way clients review artists. It helps keep everyone accountable. If only this concept could be extrapolated to the workplace, but naturally those who could implement such a thing have zero incentive to do so.
Late for Caturday, but this was my PoV for most of the weekend. He’s my little guy 🥺
Found some ancient lamb rib chops in my freezer for dinner last night. They came out beautifully despite having freeze-aged for two years! Served with a mint/cilantro/parsley chimichurri made entirely with herbs from my garden.
Your LARP rules system can be absolute ass as long as it doesn't get in the way of player fun.
I can’t deal with the world today, so instead of doing dayjob work I successfully finished proof of concept of a drip watering system for my garden. Also, my potted rose that cohabitates with my saffron bloomed today.
Goddamn I hate Rossi’s arc in #endfield. Like why the fuck are the adults playing along with kids’ games when the kids are waving around a literal bottle of Blight/radioactive waste that kills people?
