Our next webinar "Balance is Vital: Quantitative Balance Testing To Support Clinical Decision Making Around Fall Risk" will be given by Ajit Chaudhari on Sept 24 at 2 pm ET. This webinar is free to anyone, and recording is available to members. Register here: redcap.nchri.org/surveys/?s=M...
Stockholm has been amazing for #isb2025. I had the privilege of presenting our foot and ankle standization work in a discussion on kinematic recommendations across joints. It has been a great opportunity to connect with collaborators from around the world on this effort.
I'm so happy to be in Stockholm for #isb2025. If you're here, be sure to attend Amy Lenz's talk in the foot & ankle biomechanics session in room C1 at 9:30 tomorrow!
The leadership of GCMAS was officially turned over to the next society president, Wendy Pierce, at the world's largest gavel. #gait25
This year's GCMAS annual meeting kicked off with a two day pre-course on "Basic Gait Analysis and Interpretation". This course was designed to provide anyone working in a clinical lab necessary clinical & technical information to become competent in data analysis and interpretation.
I'm thrilled that we had a CurveBeam HiRise installed at Shriners Children’s this week and excited to explore ways we can use weightbearing CT to better evaluate pediatric foot deformities.
I'm forever honored to be the bookends of Tom Brown's PhD students with Don Anderson. It was incredible to see 13 of 19 of his PhD students together. His approach to rigorous science, thinking creatively, and clinical collaborations have played a large role in my career @troy-biomechlab.bsky.social
It was a real privilege and pleasure to return to the University of Iowa to honor my mentor at the dedication of the Thomas D Brown Biomechanics Research Lab. The fact that 13 of his 19 former PhD students attended says a lot about the lasting impact of his mentorship. @karenkruger.bsky.social
The latest issue of Foot & Ankle International includes updated standard definitions for foot & ankle terminology. They were originally introduced in 1997 and were reviewed by the AOFAS research committee and foot & ankle biomedical engineering experts in 2024. tinyurl.com/yhjtmnyp
Early registration for this year's GCMAS meeting ends Thurs, May 1! This year's meeting will be held June 19-June 21 in Columbus OH. This year's schedule includes a two day pre-course and keynotes from Dr Scott Delp and Dr Robert Kay Registration link: tinyurl.com/mwr8phfc
Our recent multicenter study introduces an algorithm to automatically identify clinically meaningful phenotypes in cerebral palsy using gait data. This study analyzed 700 patients to determine frequencies associate with varying disease severity tinyurl.com/ymmk5bxw
Webinar alert! Our next webinar will be held on April 30. @ericdugan.bsky.social will present an update on the standards committee work. Register here: redcap.nchri.org/surveys/?s=M... This webinar is free to anyone, and the recording is available to members.
Shriners Children's in Spokane has an opening for a clinical motion analysis engineer: biomch-l.isbweb.org/forum/biomch...
It was such a pleasure to host Tiphanie Raffegeau as the Marquette BME graduate seminar speaker and learn about the work she's been doing using virtual reality as a tool for fall prevention research in older adults.
@shrinerschildrens.bsky.social hosted our annual State of Science meeting. Marquette University students shared updates on our foot & ankle work, including some exciting new weightbearing CT work. Our collaborators from UNT shared work using machine learning to better utilize motion analysis data
It was great to be able to volunteer with the Perry Initiative today and talk with this great group of girls about working in engineering and orthopedic surgery. These programs feel more important than ever now.
I always appreciate the " @troy-biomechlab.bsky.social talks people into climbing a mountain" session of a conference #ORS2025
