Our prisons are overcrowded because the system is broken. The answer isn't endless emergency releases. It's investing in prevention, rehabilitation and giving people the support they need to rebuild their lives.

Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.

Burnham's 'Manchesterism' is a story he has told himself and now the nation. But the reality is a legacy of profit for developers, while he delivered less than 5% affordable homes and private rents continue to soar. It doesn't have to be like this, but we cant afford more of the same.

The new Defence Secretary Wes Streeting has acknowledged that Israel is committing war crimes and that Britain has a moral and legal responsibility to respond. Today, Ellie Chowns MP has written to him calling on the Government to match those words with action, by ending all arms sales to Israel.

While politicians differ over calling out Israel's actions, more than 75,000 people have been killed. The Green Party has always been clear: call it a genocide and end UK arms sales to Israel. Andy Burnham apologised. Now it's time to match those words with action.

If Burnham does even half of the things he is currently hinting at, he will only have done so because of pressure from the left - and particularly from the Greens. We can't let this slip at the first sign of lip service!
