When trans people are under attack, "don't be political" is not an option. And we'll never be silent when a Labour Government are making life impossibly hard for trans people. We see you. And we stand with you. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

🏳️‍⚧️ SAY NO TO EXCLUSION. SAY NO TO SEGREGATION 🏳️‍⚧️ Join us on Sunday 28 June at 1pm in Retford Market Square to oppose the implementation of the EHRC Draft Code of Practice and stand in solidarity with the trans community. Trans rights are human rights. See you there.

Oh so we're just blatantly allowing the NHS to do conversion practices if they just dangle the carrot of "health care services" in front of someone. Surely more analysis to come, but this draft bill is a joke. No bill would be better than this bill. Perhaps that's what Bridget Phillipson wants.

A screenshot of the draft bill to "end Conversion Practices". It reads:
(3) Conduct which (a) is carried out by a person towards an individual with such an intention, but (b) is carried out in the course of providing health care services to the individual concerned, is not a conversion practice unless the person acts in such a way that falls far below the standards reasonable expected of a person in their position.

We would like to remind Adrian of his response to our pledges. While we never expect perfection from our elected representatives, we do expect that they defend the rights of LGBTIQA+ people, especially when called out. Adrian should reconsider his position, or find he completely lacks our support.

We quite rightly welcome the signing of the EDM by Siân, Hannah and Ellie. Fighting for trans rights is what Greens should be doing. It's a long-standing party policy that trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary people are non-binary.

Here we are: forced detransition of trans youth. They know the harms that this will cause to trans teens and their families, and they just don't care. This country and this government is flagrantly indifferent to the mental and physical wellbeing of transgender youth.

Update: Young people & families today received shocking & transphobic letters from NHS. These letters tell people that endocrine care (blockers / HRT) is being fully withdrawn in 7 weeks time (July 31st). Forced medical detransition. This country is a danger to trans children & young people.

We are delighted to say that our letter to the leaders and our elected representatives got a response, and that it was so timely! It's quite an in-depth response, and I don't think we can cover literally everything, but we're happy with the response we got.

We are writing to our leadership and elected representatives to express our utmost disappointment following the lack of Green voices during the Parliamentary debate on the Code of Practice, and we will be asking for urgent clarification on why this was the case.

EHRC acknowledges there is no UK document that can prove someone's "biological sex", so in practice people have to ask and hope. Now, the government is requiring employers to base gender pay gap reporting on this shaky data. This is not a win for femimism.

A little reminder for Andy Burnham. There's no middle ground between people wanting to exist and people who don't want those people to exist. Ironicly, those positions are a binary. You can't exclude trans people from public life in a fair way. You can't do a genocide on us compassionately.

Happy Lesbian Visibility Day! Today is a day that we celebrate lesbians, and the huge contribution they have made to the LGBTIQA+ movement. Today, when much of the LGBTIQA+ community is under attack, this solidarity matters as much as ever. Solidarity, always. 🧡🤍💜

A big thank you to Hannah Spencer MP for signing our letter and standing in clear support of the trans+ community. Like Hannah, many women from across the political spectrum have joined the 101,000+ UK women who have already signed our letter - Women in support of the trans+ community.
