Spent much of today reconnecting with @paulchadwick.bsky.social’s excellent Concrete series. Effortlessly beautiful looking comics that bring to life incredibly human tales. There’s nothing else like it in comics.
A day late but before I ever read Year One, I had this in a tiny B&W paperback. It tells the pre-Crisis origin of the Dark Knight (and Robin) via a psychological mystery. I treasure my almost 30 year old copy.

I’ve also thought a lot about a comic I made over 20 years ago that is probably lost to the sands of the internet. Only ever posted it on two message boards, both of which are long gone. Pretty sure the originals were thrown away in one of my many moves.
Looking at most of my writing these days and can see why I’m feeling so burned out. Need a definite change of pace in what I’m covering.
When shitty people do shitty things in comics, I have to remember there are also a lot of great people doing great things that it’s important to lift up when you can.
Dayjob has once again changed role, which I took so I would not be on the phone all the time, into one that at the least I will spend half my schedule on the phone. And I doubt this change will include a pay increase. I say this all the time, I need to get out of this corporate job.
