Over the years, dedicated volunteer Emma Huff has spent countless hours working in the bike shop, helping with alumni rides and bike buses, and more recently lending a hand at BWorks’ soon-to-be new home along South Grand each week!

St. Louis BWorks was founded in 1988 with the idea that everyone deserves the chance to pursue their dreams.
Eventually this outdoor space will be a combination of a true "Traffic Garden" mixed with outdoor space when the weather is nice for classes. Come lend a hand, planting and hauling mulch on Oct 10th as we start the first 30' of garden! form.jotform.com/262664818232...
Shhhh, a few parts and bicycles headed to sales to support getting more kids on bikes. Don’t tell anyone.
Hours of sunlight in the day are fading, but we continue to work on our new home. Come lend a hand! Info@bworks.org
The dog days of summer might be coming to an end! But the heat will continue ;) ☀️🚲 This week, more than 100 students joined us for Earn-A-Bike, Learn-To-Ride, and Earn-A-Computer classes. That’s a whole lot of learning, riding, wrenching, and fun packed into one hot week!
It’s the 20th anniversary of Parking Day, where advocates repurpose a parking spot for a couple hours for mini-parks, reclaiming space for social good. Meanwhile the spaces we have for pedestrians and cyclists are reclaimed daily by bad parking jobs.
Like smiling youth? Working on bicycles? Or Teaching kids how to ride a bicycle? Bworks is looking to grow its staff as we continue to grow our programs and locations! Check out the two positions we just opened up at the link below. www.bworks.org/blog/

How was your Tuesday? ☀️ For 10 City Garden Montessori fourth graders, this September Tuesday involved pedaling on two wheels all by themselves for the very first time in their lives. We managed to pause five of them long enough for a quick thumbs up! 😎
What a great day, despite the heat! So good to see so many fellow #STL folks getting out and enjoying the outdoors (and the shade and all the hydration!). Shout out to all the young riders who powered through our grass course
Come visit us in Tower Grove Park today during TGFM's Harvest Festival! It's all about our littlest riders today, with our whole fleet of balance bikes and small kids' bikes plus helmets ready to roll. Say hello and take a spin on the course!

Your friendly reminder that SLPS schools start on Monday! Lots of kids walking to bus stops and and ever growing number biking. Let’s all slow our roll and give the kids some extra space.
Weekly recap: August 16 to 22 It’s been a milder week to be outdoors, and our students, staff and volunteers certainly made the most of it! On Tuesday, our Ferguson Earn-A-Bike crew focused in on a gears lesson with Mr. Erik before their Day 5 practice ride later on in the class. Meanwhile 1/X
How was your Thursday? We started the day getting *59* #STL fourth graders fitted for helmets and bikes and practicing their gliding, stopping and pedaling skills as part of their school day. They encouraged each other all morning, and we're so proud of them! 1/3
For many BWorks students, the end of an Earn-A-Bike class marks the beginning of countless bike rides. For Zach Dinga, it also marked the beginning of his volunteer journey. 1/X
What an August it's been so far! Hot, yes, and with lots of back-to-school vibes palpable, but our amazing youth and our teaching and refurbishment teams haven't let the heat or the busyness keep them from soaking up these last days of summer and learning lots along the way. 1/X
Was a rocky day on Wednesday :), with various donated materials showing up for the new yard at 2149 Grand. Rocks for alongside the garden path / trail that we hope to start planting with natives this fall! Once the heat breaks, if you have plants you want to split let us know.
We're so proud of the crew of 19 BWorks youth and helpers who pedaled 6.6 miles through beautiful Forest Park together last night! We saw an owl, beautiful fountains and skies, and even some dinosaurs 🙂 But most of all ...
On this #FriendsFriday, we want to celebrate our latest Pershing Fellow, rising Wash U senior Eva Carrasquillo-Wilkinson (pictured at left). She's been getting a close-up view of what’s possible for St. Louis youth in her internship with us. tinyurl.com/mvmn4e4d 1/3
Weekly recap: July 12 to 18 We’re closing out this middle week of July with lots of water, shade and gratitude. It’s that time of year where the heat can feel relentless, but we all still need to move and learn and connect and get things done! This week was no exception, with nine 1/X
With DOT dropping bike lanes and speed cameras from list of proven road safety measures coupled with enforcement off the table of options, what will advocates turn to? Advocates who have been anti-education or encouragement, will pivot quickly as funding drys. www.npr.org/2026/07/16/n...
Bike lanes and speed cameras disappear from the DOT's list of proven safety measures
The Federal Highway Administration quietly stripped bike lanes and other safety recommendations from a key list of best practices. Critics say those measures are proven to cut crashes and save lives.
