Sad to hear about the passing of Vancouver punk legend Doug Donut. Probably best known as the drummer of Death Sentence, he carved out a solid career playing with a lot of more successful/mainstream Canadian bands and he was always a staple on the Vancouver music scene. RIP

Just watched the first episode of this and it did not disappoint. As mentioned, BIG Kiyoshi Kurosawa vibes here. Loving it so far and I'm genuinely surprised to find something this good on Netflix

A serial killer thriller where the killing occurs offscreen, the investigation unfurls in the margins, and we’re instead left to linger with the victims. Teruyuki Kagawa exudes pure evil in one of the best performances I’ve seen in years.

I really need journalists to learn that every time OpenAI or Anthropic or xAI says that their model has broken containment and could destroy humanity that it’s a marketing pitch by companies running out of cash with high overheads and no profitable business model wanting more investment.

Went to a screening of Blade Runner (The Final Cut) tonight at my local cinema. It was absolutely packed. And it's easy to see why; everything about that movie is top-tier - the story, the performances, the production design all hold up today. It was so heartening to see it still drawing a crowd
