Very brief jog around a few Whitby pubs I wanted to check out this afternoon. Waiting Room, Esk Vaults, Beer o'clock and Arch & Abbey. All decent, good beers on, nice vibes. I welcome any further recommendations from folks who know their boozers.

A sign in the Waiting Room, Whitby (in the loo, to be exact), which advertises visiting Scarborough by rail, but someone has written over it (there's a couple in conversation): "I'm so sorry, darling. I should have listened to you and taken you to Whitby." I can't comment - I've not been to Scarborough.

If this is the actual art being used for the 40th anniversary release of The Transformers: The Movie, disappointed doesn't do it justice. Looks like an AI nightmare. This isn't how these characters really look in the film. It's a strange selection too. Crap, crap, crap.

As listed on Amazon, this would appear to be the new cover art for the 40th anniversary release of The Transformers: The Movie. It shows Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, Jazz, Shockwave, Hot Rod, Arcee, Unicron... but in a style so removed from the movie itself. It screams AI use. I hate it.

Aliens in VR? There's some of that in Aliens: The Video Games. Read about Rogue Incursion, In Utero and Descent, with new and exclusive interviews. Pre-order wherever you buy your books.

Off to Nick Cave in a bit. A pair of tickets for today cost me over £150 last Sept. If you wanted a ticket now, they're on the official reseller platform for as little as £22. Absolute racket.
