Prototyping! My goal for the astroglobe is to create a support that allows me to give the “floating” appearance from the game. I toyed around Witt’s few ideas including just a clear acrylic staff. But this palm holder is working pretty well!

Prototype of a support for the FFXIv Astrologian floating weapon. The support is made from cardboard with notches for thumb and fingers, and is held on an open palm. With support from the fingers. An acrylic rod stick through the middle holding up the ring of the astroglode like it is floating. 2nd prototype of a support for the FFXIv Astrologian floating weapon. The support is made from a 3d print model with notches for thumb and fingers, and is held on an open palm. With support from the fingers. String wraps around the back of the hand to hold it more secure to the palm. An acrylic rod stick through the middle holding up the ring of the astroglode like it is floating.

Okay folks, because this happens every year: 1. The Met Gala funds the Costume Institute which does not receive any of the money the Met Museum gets from tickets or money from the general donation pool to the Met.
