I don’t want to sound alarmist, but this genuinely concerns me. Trump refusing to rule out emergency powers before the midterms, combined with Hegseth removing senior military leaders, deserves serious scrutiny. I hope it amounts to nothing but this isn’t something I’m comfortable dismissing.

Before calling someone a “dirtbag,” the Senator should have had his facts straight. An apology is in order. Glad one of us knew the difference between the Atlanta Hawks and the Iowa Hawkeyes!

This is a pretty important reminder for Trump: being president does not make you king. Even with a conservative Supreme Court, there are still legal and constitutional limits on executive power. He can push, threaten and test the boundaries all he wants, but sometimes the answer is still simply: no.
