🚨WFP is being forced to halve its operation in the West Bank because of severe funding constraints. Today, an estimated 900,000 people are food insecure – with increased settler violence and displacement disrupting livelihoods and deepening hunger. https://bit.ly/4zNqTwj

If you’d like to buy a book on why it actually matters that these buildings are listed and why the restrictions are necessary and good, and why you can still put a heat pump and double glazing in a GII listed cottage even though it’s listed, Great because I’m writing it.

Just get rid of Grade II entirely - if you want to put a heat-pump and double-glazing in a nice but otherwise entirely generic 18th Century cottage then you do that. You own it. You should basically be allowed to do what you want with it.

How many chokepoints can the world withstand before we're completely suffocated? Conflict is disrupting global trade and threatening to push millions more people into hunger. WFP's Carl Skau warns how an oil tanker anchored in the Strait of Hormuz can mean one less meal a day for a child in Sudan.

'Celestial Crown' This morning's image from Glastonbury Tor. A sunrise that kept on giving and eventually produced these amazing rays above St Michael's tower.

Looking out of the window now I almost can't believe I caught this colour at sunrise. It is and was torrential rain here in Glastonbury. It was brief but intense.
