With the FIBA World Cup Break officially here, here's an updated look at the WNBA standings with roughly a handful of games left in the regular season. Games will resume Sept. 17, with the regular season ending Sept. 24 and the WNBA Playoffs beginning Sept. 27.

Sunday's loss marks the second consecutive loss for the Minnesota Lynx, just the second time it has happened this season. Minnesota last lost two straight when it fell to New York on July 3 and Connecticut on July 6.
With Olivia Miles setting the Lynx record for most points scored by a rookie in a season, she now trails only Caitlin Clark on the WNBA's all-time rookie leaderboard: 1. Caitlin Clark, 769 points (2024) 2. Olivia Miles, 749 points (2026) 3. Seimone Augustus, 744 points (2006)
Final: Lynx 81, Dream 89 Strong defensive showing from the Lynx in the 2nd half, but too little too late. Lynx go into the extended break with a record of 31-9. Next game comes against the Liberty on September 18.
Atlanta takes down Minnesota 89-81, improving to 26-14 and dropping the Lynx to 31-9. The Lynx will have to wait another game to clinch the No. 1 seed, dropping their 2nd straight game for just the 2nd time this year. Now, the WNBA pauses until Sept. 17 for the FIBA World Cup.
The Lynx end the third quarter on a 13-2 run, narrowing the Dream lead down to 71-62 entering the fourth quarter. Gray has 21p/9r, Reese has 13p/7r/2stl and Canada has 14p/8a for ATL (47.2% FG) McBride has 15p/3r/3stl, Miles has 15p and Collier has 12p/7r/2stl for MIN (40% FG)
