Last night at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, European Movement Ireland was delighted to host a reception to mark the beginning of Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the EU. We were especially pleased to welcome Minister for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne.

Interesting update! Have spoken to EMI about this: • Their NI sample is conducted by Lucid Talk, without identifying EMI • Blind sample (n=1200) was 45% Catholic, 40% Protestant, 15% other • However: questions have an obvious EU lens - people will answer Qs about unity through the lens of Europe

European Movement Ireland’s annual poll, as usual, shows 82% of RoI residents support EU membership. But one striking finding elsewhere: residents of N Ireland are also surveyed, and 63% (!!??) would vote in favour of a United Ireland. No mainstream poll has *ever* recorded a margin like this…
