I love all my #BirdTrack stats. It's tough on the patch now with no water in the meres. I put in a lot more effort on recording breeding evidence this year (getting in atlas mode). Not sure I'll find another 12 species to match last year! @birdtrack.bsky.social
A juvenile Whinchat was somewhat of a surprise find at Darsham Marshes this afternoon. First time I have visited this site. #SuffolkBirds
Exciting news breaking this morning! Zitting Cisticola has bred successfully in Britain for a second consecutive year, with at least seven juveniles from three broods recorded at Walberswick NNR, Suffolk, this summer:

Despite showing for 6 consecutive days, day 7 was unlucky for me with Giant Pitta at the Kinabatangan Hide this morning! But thanks to this absolute stunner, it was not a double-pitta-dip-day! Absolutely glowing Blue-banded Pitta near Lahad Datu this afternoon! What a bird!
The first 2 days co-guiding with Paul Selby the Mariposa Butterflies of the French Alps have already been amazing: Foulquier's Grizzled Skipper and several Balkan Fritillary, plus oodles of others. Totally stunning landscape and a few birds thrown in - Rock Thrush today @mariposanature.bsky.social
3/7/26 #Cumbria - Phwoar! The Dark Red #Helleborines (Epipactis atrorubens) are peaking on the Limestone pavements above Morecambe Bay, in an array of colours! Tomorrow I take Arnside & District NHS out near Kendal and on Sunday it’s a trip up #HuttonRoof for @mariposanature.bsky.social

and a wee bit of video of the Woodcock with chicks in tow! #highlandbirds 🪶
I found this neat tool that lets you generate text and images just from your ideas. It's really good!
Six limosa Black-tailed Godwits at Minsmere yesterday, but they never came close for nice photos. A selection here; a couple 'beasts' plus a small nicely barred and white-browed bird #ukbirding #suffolkbirding
