I like Bill Burr cause he doesn't try to explain it, doesn't try to understand it, he just constantly says "the billionaires are no longer happy being billionaires, that's weird man" and it really is just as simple as "why are you guys so fucking unhappy -- you won??"

Not to mention that, unsurprisingly, The Dress being a viral moment from Buzzfeed but having the conversation play out on early social (mainly Twitter and Facebook) was all the engagement learning data needed to train algorithms to produce More Of That Whenever Possible, Natural or Manufactured.

Was literally talking to a friend about this last night. The majority of what went viral before The Dress went viral because it reflected some kind of consensus — this is good, this is interesting, this is relatable. After The Dress, virality was permanently changed into a measurement of conflict.
