Today in thieves, cheats & grifters on the internet. Talent500, who have a gold check account on twitter, copied a few bits of my article that I worked for 3 weeks on. Could not even be bothered to copy enough to get to a working solution, stopped at intermediary steps. And "forgot" to give credit.

My original article, dated March 18, 2025.The lame copy from Talent 500, dated March 24, 2025, 6 days after mine.Yet somehow Talent 500 ranks higher in search results than Frontend Masters.

FontJit is a small utility to efficiently lazy-load fonts! 🚀 FontJit gives you full control over how and when your fonts are loaded, and what should happen before, during and after. Useful if you're working on font specimen sites, minisites, or huge font collections! ➡️ github.com/RoelN/FontJit

Hey, were we friends in the Twitter days? I don't seem to get much Engagement™ here on Bluesky and I wonder if that's because the algorithm is shunning me, or because I only post occasionally (cause: little engagement!), or maybe simply because nobody likes me here :P Anyway, wanna be friends?

My first real change to Wakamai Fondue's UI is to remove the donation button. It never worked: people only donated twice, and only after I explicitly posted about it on social media, which felt like begging. All donations have been re-distributed to the amazing folks who contributed code! 💸

Had a great conversation with @sjoy.lol today. We both toyed around with the web as a hobby starting in the late 90s, before eventually turning it into a career much later on. We talked a lot about that, but then got into accessibility and I just loved how she referred to it as "a heart thing" 😊

Are your fonts breaking Wakamai Fondue? Or not all features showing up correctly? I'm looking for fonts to stress-test the fondue, especially the bétà. (Protip: if you open the developer tools, the console might have reported an error that the site itself doesn't mention!)

Unexpectedly, the CSSWG have accepted our proposal for a new <meta name=text-scale> tag!! This will change the initial font size based on the user's text size setting. Unfortunately it's going to become part of the boilerplate for every website you make! But will really improve a11y.

This 5.25" floppy disk was stored in an uninsulated attic for the past 25 years, where the weight of the other disks made it bend over the diskbox edge. It loaded with zero errors! OId tech is awesome! 💖

I would never consider myself a natural speaker... I always feel I have a long way to go. Speaking at CSS Day was sort of a dream come true, something I never imagined possible. I thought I should write about this experience in a personal heartfelt article: utilitybend.com/blog/css-day...
