I'm so grateful to Bramus for making this. It's awesome. Wouldn't you love to make these kinds of gradients natively in CSS - with the browser's graphics engine giving you a native hardware-accelerated render?

At the CSSWG there is an issue about 2D Mesh gradients. The consensus was that whatever we do, it should be PDF compatible. With the help of Gemini I found my way to “Coons Patches” as the underlying mechanism. Using AIStudio, I then generated this editor: genuine-waterfall-crane.codepen.app

In my talk for CSS Day, I had a slide of a comment from YT complaining about CSS overstepping its bounds now that we can do some logic-based styling directly in CSS. Afterwards, @adactio.com came to see me to laugh about it a bit, because he was hearing the same thing when :hover was added to CSS.

The #CSSDay community had incredibly helpful feedback about <meta name=text-scale>. Lots of different ideas for how to stop headings from scaling at the same rate as body text. Good feedback on how the large text on mobile will be a problem for languages with very long words, like German.

I am wildly excited for what the next-gen does with #CSS

This might be my last year living in the UK. Next spring, I'm hoping to move to Japan and I plan to start looking for jobs soon. I would love to have a job that would let me continue or increase my participation in the CSSWG. If anyone knows an org in Japan that could hire me, please let me know

I'm still thinking about #CSSDay. Seeing old friends and members of the CSSWG who I don't normally get to meet in person. But more importantly, talking to all the attendees. We're so privileged to be part of a world wide community that want to make the web a better place for everyone.

At @css.cafe we have @utilitybend.com is talking about the work he and others are doing at OpenUI for dual slider controls. There are so many out there on the web.

I'm at @css.cafe and Marco Christian Krenn is talking about design systems and auto generating with code their colour system. They have a similar colour layering system to us at the BBC but I love how it's so automated.

#cssday continued… Great chats with @schepp.dev and @erwinhofman.bsky.social, advanced CSS talks with @kizu.dev, learned a lot from @joshtumath.uk, got my brain melted by @html5test.com, and of course special thanks to @rgadellaa.bsky.social for fighting the good battle with @open-web-advocacy.org.

And finally PPK invites the speakers on stage. What another fantastic conference. Every talk on point. Incredible work by the audio team, caterers, volunteers and the audience!! Wonderful. And a shout out to @londonwebstandards.org State of the Browser.
