Kenny and I are playing as a duo tomorrow in NJ for the first time. We normally play as a 5 or soon to be 6 piece, so this is gonna be quite an exciting change up and challenge.

Not so sure I want another band acct to deal so my personal will have to do. Outer World is playing in Richmond for the first time since last April in June. Lockin in one more support act and the full deets will be revealed.
"But it is a reminder. The work of progress—messy, meaningful, often misunderstood—rarely feels urgent until it’s too late. So we act now. Quietly, stubbornly, steadily."

From a year ago: Wrote about records from Rosie Tucker, Outer World @courtesydesk.bsky.social, R.E. Seraphin @reseraphin.bsky.social @safesuburban.bsky.social, and Marbled Eye:
Pressing Concerns: Rosie Tucker, Outer World, R.E. Seraphin, Marbled Eye
I’m just gonna come right out and say it: this is one of the strongest editions of Pressing Concerns ever, bar none. These are four Tier-A1 indie rock albums. Any of them could be leading off…

If someone can explain why the Outer World song "The Message Is The Message" randomly got nearly 1000 streams on Monday, I'd love to know. I can't find a playlist that caused it. It's not earth-shattering for a lot, but for a year-old record and non-single to have that happen is a little wonky.
I went to see the band Spatula at a very small venue in 1995, and they added this sort of new act called LOW to the bill. Talk about a way to experience that for the first time.
Stephen J Pumpkins@jaybeans.bsky.social · 2y agoWhat musical act did you get to see in an intimate setting? Because it was before they got big or after they had their huge moment?
Saw the creator of Bluesky speak today. I jumped on here without much knowledge of the platform and I’m stoked to dig in and play with all that open source can provide.

Wrapping a demo on a new Outer World song with the most timely lyric.
Has there ever been a more appropriate time to read this book?
Currently trying to run the figures in my head around the number of people who own a crosley AND a Wedding Present record.
1st band practice of the year lifted me above the clouds.
I think often about overhearing a couple say aloud “dammit I can’t find anything in here to instagram” and hope that it all got sorted out in the end.
I’m loving roundups like these which highlight some of the not terrible things happening at the moment.
Seen in Brooklyn this AM: an egged cybertruck with a bag of dogshit and also unbagged dogshit
I'm not a very spiteful person, but seeing images of cyber trucks getting covered in dog poo feels like a small win at the moment.
