Pharma Careers

@pharmacareers.bsky.social

Are you a woman science graduate working in pharma in Ireland? We would like to hear how your career unfolded. A research project at SETU, funded by Taighde Éireann / Research Ireland. Get in touch.

Great start to the HEI Rural Development Symposium 2026 this morning, with opening remarks from Minister of State Jerry Buttimer and an opening session from Prof Felicity Kelliher and Dr Leana Reinl of SETU Faculty of Business and Dr Noel Murray of MTU. 🧵

Research like this can actually shift how organisations think about retention and career development. If we can show what's working and what's not, we can make real change.

Really happy to be part of @pharmacareers.bsky.social When women leave STEM careers, we blame pipeline or choice. PharmaCareers asks something different: what actually happens across a working life? Get in touch to participate, or @ anyone who may be interested #WomenInSTEM #PharmaCareers

That matters because careers are rarely tidy sequences of individual choices. They unfold through organisations, opportunities, place, relationships and caring responsibilities. BNIM gives participants room to show us what mattered and where the story changed direction.

Our fieldwork is in progress. We look forward to connecting with more women about their career story. Please do get in touch if interested in taking part

Our team are looking to connect with women science graduates to share their career stories from working in the Irish pharmaceutical industry. Please share across your networks

As a rural researcher and geographer, working on @pharmacareers.bsky.social is bringing to light new questions on what impacts the working lives of women in STEM careers and the pharma sector. Understanding the influences from across women’s lives and in different places are important to explore
