1/? Whimsical this, whimsical that. Want to do whimsical? Look in your closet, you probably already have it. If not. Thrift it. Look for a couple key pieces. Like a cool pair of boots or a bad ass jacket. Not a whole ass wardrobe. #whimsicalfashiom #whimsical

So while authors and publishers are arguing about divvying up the settlement money, Anthropic have got away with mass theft. Whatever they pay out is simply a cost of business. The shit machine they built with that theft still exists despite a complete lack of consent and blatant law-breaking.

Tim Curry, who defined 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show,' has died
Curry will be most remembered for his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the tyrannical gender-bending alien scientist in both stage and screen versions of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He was 80.

Just watched this movie at home. Really enjoyed the lore of the hotel and authors backstory unfolded while trying to solve this mystery. I also watched Oddity recently. Still need to watch Caveat this weekend. #horror #folkhorror

When looking for more advanced books, check your local university library. Some allow local residents to have a library card to access physical material. This helps when most academic books start at $80-90. Now if we could get more access to the journals. #witchtok #occultbooks #Research #occult

13,000 rare occult books for sale: Inside the home of a bookseller facing eviction in Oakland
Todd Pratum owned bookshops in the hippie Haight and high-end Healdsburg. Leaving his apartment of 20 years would mean offloading his extensive collection.

“We’ve come to the point where we’re more interested in looking at the scrolls of Kerouac then reading Kerouac. The same with Hemingway’s home in Key West. “ Fetishism of famous writers, he suggested, occurs because “ it’s such heavy-lifting to actually read books.” - Tim Youd, Pity the Reader
Got a new composition notebook; actually a pact for dream journaling. I’ve been writing down my dreams off and on for many years. I have found, that when I’m consistently keeping track, the dreams are more vivid and stay longer. The Dream Game was a recent purchase at a large sale. #dreamjlurnaling

“Why Writing a Book Takes So Long” @cmalongi.bsky.social I do enjoy the quote of yeating into the sun if suggested to use AI to help speed up the process.

I grew up with horror movies. Probably saw them younger than I should have. My preference of horror are the classic 80’s slasher, the supernatural horror like “Hellraiser” and the B movies and VHS like “Puppet master” or “Subspecies” these are comfort and nostalgia.
Horror movies literally change your brain chemistry, and I just think that's neat. 🥰 My latest for my faves over at Fango. 🥰
The vast majority of ppl who chose "AI" deferred to it w/o checking the answers. Call it cognitive offloading, technochauvinism, automation bias, or trust in numbers, people assume "AI"=Computer, Computer=Math, Math=Objectively Correct, :. "AI"=Objectively Correct, but ot just isn't necessarily true
This is why I keep it out of my classrooms. This is why I teach my students to be careful/critical in their consumption of gAI. This is why universities shouldn't be so bloody ridiculously uncritical in forcing gAI on faculty, staff and students. We're inculcating dependence on a catastrophic scale
If you have removed all the Neil Gaiman from your collection but you still engage with Harry Potter, you are not conscientious. You are performative.
🧵Buckle up, #witchsky. I've come across something fascinating in my search for Hekate's origins. 🗝️ The debate often focuses on whether Hekate is Greek or Anatolian? Anatolian proponents point out the many Anatolian names that mirror her, like the Hecatomnid Dynasty in Ancient Caria (SW Turkey).
It also seems to be on Threads that the authors mentioned had not been informed that they would have their books feed into the AI funnel and sh*t out slop. Also, it sounds like they are aware that attention spans are shorter and wants it to stay that way.
I was hoping this was an April Fool's joke, but sadly no. They dumped the Historical line for this dreck. Fair warning to authors: If you agree to this nonsense, you are forever dead to me. www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/...
