Why did we choose the 25th of September to be Dolly Parton Day in Renfrewshire? Well, when we looked at dates in the American format, it was a no brainer really! 😊📚

It's official! The first 'Dolly Parton Day' - a celebration of the impact of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Renfrewshire - will take place on the 25th of September. But can you tell why we chose this date for our annual celebration??? 😊📚

Yesterday we had the pleasure of visiting West Johnstone and St Catherine's ELCCs to see learning supported by Imagination Library. At West Johnstone we enjoyed stories as part of their Forest Kindergarten and at St Catherine's we were treated to Bookbug in their Imagination Garden library space 😊📚

We're only half way through 2026 but our friends at the Dollywood Foundation are already planning which books will be in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library book list for 2027!

Imagination Library introduces children to a variety of authors. St Charles' ELCC welcomed author Samuel Crawford Cox recently to share his book 'Caw-Caw-Cough! Jack and the Early Bird'. The children enjoyed meeting Samuel, hearing his story and asking lots of questions about being an author 😊📚​
