🔗 Quote: Writing is the best way to think clearly about a topic. It's easy to believe you understand something when you're just turning it over in your head. When you have to condense that down into words, you find out exactly how much you do or don't understand.

💸 So I use the $100 / month Claude Code subscription and just analyzed my last month of usage (pretty light load and mostly Opus 4.8 / Opus 5.0), and the metered cost would have been $2,350. The extremely subsidized, non-profitable-for-anyone cost. Crazy shit.

🔗 With what seems like an increasing instability of web services, if you are responsible for producing a status page for your own services, it could be helpful to also present the dependency services you rely on, since status is through the eyes of your customer. statusgator.com/use-cases/saas

👨‍💻 Meta commentary: It is frustrating seeing tech people whose content I enjoy lead emails by telling me how many stars their repo has or telling me how many views their "viral talk" got on YouTube. Stay reader-focused. Solve the reader's problem. Readers don't care about your vanity numbers.

☕ Good morning. Slept in my own bed last night, and a long sleep at that after a busy day of carrying all my stuff back in. All house repairs are done. Still have a lot of cleaning, furniture adjusting, and the like. Will also have them back for some paint touch-ups next week.
