✅ Today's Goals: - Capture some journal notes upon reflection. - Review some PRs. - Do some discovery planning for new LocalCents epic - Afternoon doctor visit - Work related call. - Evening: Not sure. See where my energy is. Ideally would work on some blog content but might grab some gaming time.

✅ Today's Goals: - Weekly grocery pickup. - Wash bed sheets and clean up bedroom. - Work out weekly plan in journal. - Continue skill fork work. - Do some content safari for blog content ideas. - Take prospect call. - Remember to take trash out.

✅ Today's Goals: - Pick up some morning pretzels. - Email cleanup. - LocalCents work. Want to do some maintenance on some of my AI skills and metadata. Would like to trim, reverify what needs to be there, and cut the noise.

👨‍💻 When I am titling docs that I know will be presented in the ex_doc sidebar, I try hard to limit the length to make sure they fit the presentation. Saw this UI pattern on a separate website that is a nice fallback when you cannot guarantee length. #UI

Screenshot of a documentation sidebar showing a numbered chapter list. Longer titles are automatically truncated with an ellipsis (e.g. 'What Can You Use LLM's F…', 'Your App Is Only As Good…', '17 Techniques For Improvi…'), while the selected item, '5 Questions To Ask Before Choosing An LLM,' is shown in full — the graceful length-fallback pattern I'm pointing to.

✅ Today's Goals: - Catch up on email. - Schedule some calls for next week. - Continue work on personal site search index. - LocalCents cleanup ahead of new wayfinder map for Automerge conflict resolution UI. - Heat up some homemade macaroni and cheese for Phillies game watchin'.

✅ Today's Goals: - Morning grocery pickup. - Work on website consulting page content. - Code review of LocalCents process shutdown PR. - Make a buffalo chicken wrap with leftovers. - Evening: More LocalCents work? Pokemon? Phillies?

✏️ Shimming Your Way Off a Dead Elixir Dependency A stuck dependency was blocking an upgrade I needed. When it's only used in a few spots, you just delete it. When it's woven everywhere, a shim lets you retire it in two calm PRs instead of one scary one. #elixirlang mikezornek.com/posts/2026/7...

Shimming Your Way Off a Dead Elixir Dependency

An abandoned dependency was blocking a major upgrade I needed. Here are the two ways I retire one, and when a shim beats a big-bang rewrite.
