The sky was a weird red-ochre colour yesterday evening and I hoped the Saharan dust would bring me some nice moths. I didn't expect Bedstraw Hawk-moth though! What a stunning moth. Other more common migrants too. S.Yorks. VC63. #TeamMoth @bcyorkshire.bsky.social

A big increase in Poplar Kitten numbers last night, a moth which was previously scarce here. Sallow Kitten has decreased in numbers significantly however. Poplar Hawk-moth is arriving in good numbers each night with a second generation boost. VC63 S.Yorks. #TeamMoth @bcyorkshire.bsky.social

A long trek across Thorne and Crowle Moors in search of Dune Helleborines and Round-leaved Sundews produced a few plants. Sundews were few and far between. Surprised to see mountain bikers along the delicate paths.

Some nice moths in the garden traps last night including Small Marbled, which was new for me. A bordered Beauty in mint condition was stunning, and a Forester Moth, which I haven't managed to see in the garden this year yet, turned up to light. S.Yorks

Saperda populnea, found in N.Notts woodland. Also many galls present on Aspen. A new species for me and only one historic county record.

Very pleased to see Small Brindled beauty in my S.Yorkshire garden trap last night, under a mature Oak. A moth I have been hoping to see for a while now. Hopefully this moth's fortunes are on the up and its distribution and numbers will continue to increase in the county. #TeamMoth
