novels are also intimidating because you’re likely to end up reading somebody translated and that stresses me out so much. if I think too much about all the janky fanlations of manga I’ve read and how much ive missed in the work as a result my tummy starts to hurt.
reading a novel is often intimidating to me not because of the length or attention required but because novels tend to make me think about how people before me live full lives and learn and do so much whereas I would be on the computer all day if nobody stopped me. if that’s makes any sense at all
you’d think with all my time playing spore as a youth I could make my way around a gizmo tool with minimal difficulty but that is not the case
