The US Senate just passed a Republican budget which includes a provision to "defund" Planned Parenthood by banning the provider from the Medicaid program. This legislation will take away health care from millions of people - all to give more tax breaks to billionaires. Take action, link in comment.

THE US SENATE JUST VOTED TO SLASH MEDICAID AND "DEFUND" PLANNED PARENTHOOD. This legislation has the potential to devastate health care access across the country, including in New Hampshire – all to give tax breaks to billionaires.Statement from Kayla Montgomery, VP of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund: "This bill is shameful and takes away health care for millions and this backdoor abortion ban will harm people across the country and here in New Hampshire. Planned Parenthood of Northern New England is committed to continuing to provide high-quality, affordable, compassionate sexual and reproductive health care amid these politically motivated attacks. Thank you to Senator Shaheen and Senator Hassan for fighting tooth and nail for Granite Staters and against this disaster of a bill."Statement from Jeanne Shaheen, United States Senator: "Planned Parenthood fills an essential role in the health care landscape providing cancer screenings, reproductive health care and family planning services that thousands of Granite Staters count on. The outrageous megabill that Republicans jammed through the Senate will rip away health care and food assistance for millions of Americans, spike health care premiums for millions more and put rural health care providers at risk, making Planned Parenthood’s services more important than ever. The effort to defund Planned Parenthood marks yet another direct attack on women’s well-being."WHAT YOU CAN DO: Contact Representatives Pappas and Goodlander and urge them to vote NO on this disastrous bill; Reach out to five friends and ask them to do the same; Stay informed, this bill still needs to pass the House before it is sent to the President’s desk to be signed into law; Keep making noise + keep talking about how devastating this legislation will be if it is passed.

SCOTUS ruled in Medina v. PP South Atlantic (PPSAT) that Medicaid patients in South Carolina may no longer be able to use their coverage at PPSAT for birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing & treatment, & other preventive health care. Our cases against President Trump on behalf of trans people can continue. We will not back down from the fight for trans health care and for trans people’s dignity and freedom.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court ruled Tennessee’s law banning gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth can remain in effect. This is devastating for trans people and our families but doesn’t end our work against President Trump’s attacks on trans people and our health care.

For generations, transgender people have faced efforts to erase us from public life — and every one of them has failed. This is no different. We’ve always been here, and we’re not going anywhere, no matter what the courts say. Count on it.

Ensuring Medicaid is properly funded is critical to protecting Granite Staters’ access to all types of health care, from long-term care to EMS services. I met with New Hampshire county officials to discuss the importance of Medicaid for our local communities and my work to protect it.

“This program, Medicaid, is vital to – just for basic survival.” Thank you to NH’s own Justin Bonny for sharing his story. Families across NH are the ones who will pay the price for President Trump’s cuts to Medicaid. I'm fighting with all I have to protect the programs Granite Staters rely on.

Big changes could be coming to Medicaid. NH families are bracing for the consequences.

The safety net program covers more than 180,000 children, seniors, people with disabilities and low-income adults in New Hampshire.
