Private markets don’t take care of people. It commodifies people’s needs and makes them beholden. The role of government becomes increasingly clear as more people are left out and left behind. There are many ways your life becomes further unaffordable when we reject taxation and redistribution.

As I’ve been knocking doors over the past couple of weeks, parents have been telling me that the change from OC Transpo to OSTA has left some gaps in service for school-age kids. For instance, students heading to Sir Robert Borden HS have longer trips and are having to change buses partway.

I have learned that the application to build a drive-through fast food restaurant at 1984 Baseline Road (currently the College Square Beer Store) has been withdrawn by the applicant. That means that there are currently no plans to replace the Beer Store with another business.

I've heard from many people that they can't find their name on the voters list using the online checker. In fact, I'm not on the list! Today, I wrote to the Elections Office asking them to look into the matter. I suspect the problem is with the software, not the list itself, but let's be sure!
