Today I met with the CEO of the Canadian Red Cross to discuss how we can work quickly together to provide significant support for the thousands of Ottawa residents recovering from the flooding on July 1.

Thank you, Ottawa Citizen, for a terrific story about the lack of construction coordination in Ottawa, an issue I raised last month. I'm glad to see that others quoted in the story have acknowledged this problem.

Hi everyone, I’m now visiting people who are going to the hairdressers in order to have hot water to wash their hair. Showers remain available at City facilities. That said, residents are encouraged to call the facility in advance to confirm, as access may be limited due to summer camp.

Today's record rainfall has caused significant flooding and power outages in several areas of the city. City staff and Hydro Ottawa crews have been deployed to respond as quickly and effectively as possible.

I had the pleasure today of meeting with OC Transpo GM Rick Leary and transit staffer Alana Saikaly. We talked about the need to improve service reliability, evidence-based decision-making, and planning ahead for the opening of LRT Stage 2 West.
