Argentina is one of the most interesting teams I ever watched. Very unique flair, great activity, confidence and game competence. They handle so many situations differently than any other team and still it makes so much sense. They're difficult to put into words, but I'll try:

When evaluating, I think it's a good rule of thumb to hold off on making a comparison for as long as you can. Players are weird individual bundles of characteristics, cultural references, coaching, experiences, and a quick "he reminds me of [x player]" risks flattening all that

Paraguay deckt mit den Wingern die deutschen Halbraumspieler (Brown/Nmecha). Sehr unorthodox. Könnte man mit Rotationen um diese Position bespielen oder zB breiterer Dreieraufbau, Kimmich andribbeln, direkte Verlagerung.

Marcelo #Bielsa has been a brillant thinker in terms of attacking football, 10-20 years ago he was way ahead of his time. His most famous quote perfectly demonstrates his quality and his failure: "If football were played by robots, I would win everything." Well: It isn't.

Making sure that the communication on the pitch is clear and actually effective and binding is one of the most underrated jobs of a coach. Players are used to ignoring 90% of what their team-mates say since most players lean into vague blabbering most of the time. Ask them what words they use.
