Yesterday I got an inquiry from someone who wanted me to promote their AI-generated book. It even has a fake quote from me, misattributing someone else’s idea to me. Layers on layers! Just as I was reeling, another AI pitch to promote content hit my inbox.

"Reading this book will take you on a journey of thinking. Not just thinking in straight lines, but thinking sideways. The idea is that if you want to solve a problem, you should approach it from every possible angle. When the direct approach stalls or fails, there may be a side alley you can try."

I signed 300 copies of my book in Baltimore, mostly to young readers. I told them Thinking Sideways would be of more interest to their coaches and parents but many disagreed, insisting they LOVE advanced books. Then a 7-year-old asked me a question about chess and AI from chapter 4. 😮
