We worked hard to secure $500,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley to make important infrastructure upgrades at the James T. Ventress Clubhouse in Newhall! Thank you to the entire Boys & Girls Club team for all you do for our young people and families! 🧡

Yesterday we celebrated our departing Assemblymembers as their time in the Legislature comes to a close.

This weekend I received the Sierra Club Los Angeles Chapter’s Political Leadership Award.

I was proud to present ACR 230 to recognize October as California Firefighter Appreciation Month and October 3 as California Firefighters Memorial Day.

It’s always a joy to meet with Samuel Dixon. They continue to do such amazing work in our community to provide health care and mental health services, and I’m so glad to have secured over $650,000 for their mental health facility in Newhall to make sure we can support the mental health of our youth.

Through movies like Michael and One Battle After Another, North LA Studios employs hundreds of Santa Clarita Valley residents on recent releases and upcoming projects. Proud to co-auth the film tax credit that is helping get our community and Hollywood back to work and continue to be a creative hub!

What a beautiful day to see a natural treasure right in our back yard. We said hello to well over a hundred junior lifeguards in training, saw our local bald eagle family, and boated across our oasis in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Nothing beats food made from scratch, and Coffee Mi Amor in Chatsworth makes everything homemade in such a calming atmosphere. So lucky to have them in my neighborhood, and glad we were able to stop in while we were getting our day going.

Part of community, to me, is sharing skills and passing down crafts to the next generation. And that’s what Lizz Leral and Quilting for Community lives and breathes.

Anyone who knows me knows I love poppies. And so seeing painted, paper, pastel, and even more ways to create poppies from schools in the Castaic Unified School District and students was a highlight of the day! What a gift to brighten our office!🧡

I was proud to join Northeast Valley Health Corporation for an important conversation about making healthcare more affordable and accessible for every family. As a former nurse advocate, I know that delaying care can turn a manageable condition into a crisis.

I appreciated the time to connect with Newhall CHP Station Captain Purvis. Getting updates of what law enforcement is seeing in our community is an important piece of making sure I have a pulse on what the legislature can do to better protect and support our community.

I love trying new shops and restaurants in our community, and Manny recently opened Cafe Turmeric up in Castaic.

Over 1500 backpacks, smiling faces, and excited students! 🎒😊 Thank you to every family who joined us for our Fourth Annual Back-To-School Backpack Giveaway. I was so proud to be able to help local students prepare for the school year and ease some expenses for hardworking parents and caregivers.

Had a great meeting in the office with Matt Watson from iLEAD, speaking about the work of their school in our community, SCVi. After our discussion, I had the pleasure of heading over to SCVi to meet staff and tour the library space they’re upgrading.

So fun to visit the horses, instructors, and physical therapists who are making a difference in our community at Ride On. They create a space where everyone can meet, learn from, and heal with these amazing animals!

What a good way to get the day going yesterday morning at Coffee4Vets. Heard amazing stories and shared some laughs with great folks who've served and call the Santa Clarita Valley home. 🧡

Neighbors in Val Verde and Castaic are being exposed to even more toxic air from the burning Chiquita Canyon Landfill. New nosebleeds, headaches, and more as a result of excavation intended to keep the western slope from collapsing.

I had a wonderful time touring the Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue, the largest guinea pig welfare organization in the US. We learned about the incredible work they do to care for, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for guinea pigs in need. 🐹
