The world seems very dull lately. And while I'm actively working on getting out of my slump I want to thank the people that show up anyways. The ones who pop into my short streams, the ones who check on me, the ones who sit with me in silence. You do more than you realize.
On a short trip to Michigan, but my entire brain is exhausted and drained. I'm trying to be the best me for myself. But honestly it's hard and exhausting. People see me up in the middle of the night...but the truth is that the dark bothers me right now. Sleeping when the sun is up just feels safer.
Someone asked me a few days ago why my lala no longer wears her trademark pigtails and I had to think about how to explain it. Because for 3 years that was her primary hairstyle. And to be honest it's because I've changed. I've started setting boundaries and being firm with them. 1/?

Yellowstone was our animal park with sightings of bison, elk, black bear, pronghorn, mule deer, Osprey, sandhill cranes, and white headed sparrows.

Schools and parents...when you take your kids to zoos and aquariums make sure you teach your children to not pound on windows or screech like banshees. It can disturb animals and that is their home. Don't be like the school groups I saw at Shedd Aquarium today. Don't ruin the experience for others.

As the littlest lala walked into the sun she learned she was stronger and more ready than she knew. And even though things hurt and its hard to look at the next day...the sun will come up and its light will break through the darkness.
