Really love all of this, they're going in a great direction and the core is one of my favourite games ever. Well worth a read!
Marathon’s game director reflects on the journey so far and the weird and wild path ahead. Here’s the gist of it: 🔹With the first season of Marathon we’ve created a strong core community. 🔹We're embarking on a multi-season journey built around growing from the seed of this strong community. [1/6]
Forza Horizon 6 might feel a bit like a reskin, but it's still a lot of fun. From @geeky.bsky.social www.rogue.site/editorials/f...
Forza Horizon 6 doesn't feel like Japan, but it's a fun tribute
While it doesn’t feel much like Japan, it is at least a fantastic tribute to that eclectic car culture, with some fun spots of sightseeing along the way.

This post marks @geeky.bsky.social's first post with us as a weekly staff writer! Expect Tom to show regularly, as we're paying him a monthly rate. This means more articles each week AND a bit of additional relief when @rygilliam.bsky.social takes a little paternity break at the end of the month.
Castle Away's playtest is the perfect mix of everything you want from an early access demo. www.rogue.site/editorials/c...
Off to Shanghai this morning, so 16 hours of travel ahead of me. Got some books to read, my Switch and the new episodes of the Boys to get me through. So excited for the trip!
Love having @geeky.bsky.social on the site, and this is a super cool read for those of us in the community AND those who only want to engage with Marathon from afar!
In our latest from @geeky.bsky.social, he tells how the Marathon community came together to solve the ARG that launched the Cryo Archive map! www.rogue.site/editorials/t...
Freelance Friday is here again! This week, @geeky.bsky.social returns to Rogue to advocate for Oaken Tower, which is currently "just" a demo. www.rogue.site/editorials/o...
Oaken Tower is too good not to play
Oaken Tower is an auto-battler that isn't even out yet, and I'm already obsessed

The first streaming service to sort out a license agreement with record companies to allow streamers to stream music will immediately get me to sign up. It feels like there's a lot of money being left on the table by those companies now because there's no sensible way to do it
Super excited to head back into Marathon later. With that, Resi 9, Esoteric Ebb, Slay the Spire 2 and more coming in the next few weeks, it's a crazy good time for people who like games! #gaming
Isn't it weird how we, as a community/society, switched from saying: "I like/don't like that" to: "that's good/bad" -as if we're the authority on quality and personal taste doesn't matter?
Really enjoying Marathon, the pve is actually interesting and keeps you on your toes and I've had some of the best PvP fights I've ever had in an extraction shooter.
We're joined by @geeky.bsky.social this week to talk about the recent practice of hate campaigning for games long before they release. www.rogue.site/editorials/h...
Hate Campaigns for Games will Kill Innovation
The more we blow up games before they even come out, the less interesting those games are going to become over time

I'm looking for other creators planning on playing #Marathon when it launches for the server slam Hit me up with your links or give me recommendations!
I'm really looking forward to trying HighGuard when I get back from my trip in a week and a bit, but I'm genuinely worried they'll shut it down before then. The way the gaming community has rallied around crying out for it's failure is insane to me. Don't we want indie studios making new games?
Just watching Twin Peaks for the first time, and this coupled with finding out about the Peacemaker intro is making me a little less fond of Alan Wake 2. I thought it was crazy creative and now I'm seeing it was just full of references to things I hadn't seen, that border on just stealing bits.
I left Twitter because of the bots and terrible takes and self promotion and needless arguments. Spent a week on Threads and it's increasingly the same. Maybe a good idea to keep my circle of who I follow pretty small on here. I just want to have somewhere to vent and read interesting things.
My email and twitter DMs are just full of constant bot/AI spam now. How the hell do people get messages from real strangers anymore, I'm assuming everything is spam if I don't know the sender.
I miss the time when games were about adventures and experiences instead of making progress.
Excited for a new @destinythegame.bungie.net raid today - it's always a fun thing to explore!
So many great games at the moment, Nightreign, F125, Clair Obscure, Monster Train 2, AND there's a new console tomorrow, a new Mario Kart, a Dune MMO AND Keigh3 - another great time to be a gamer
Just broke my Camera Mount because I'd over-tightened a joint and when I went to move it, it snapped something in the base instead. FML
I'm so confused by the ending of #AssassinsCreedShadows - I thought I was doing a side mission then the credits just rolled. I feel like that could have been an amazing ten hour game, but the narrative completely lacked structure or direction for a 50 hour game
I'm so happy Serif Affinity just added an object select tool, it was literally the only thing that always tempted me back towards Photoshop.
Watching Conclave and it weirdly fits in neatly with the Fast and the Furious series. What a cinematic universe!
