Grateful Dead, Philly, Cats. Counting the days till Spring Training ⚾

I opened my paint box to find out what might be in it, hoping for some rudimentary water color paint. Nope. All oil paint - who knows if they're any good. No brushes, but I figured they would need to be replaced. The bar of Fels Naptha soap looks ageless. Now to make a list of supplies. 🖌️🎨

Robert Calvert 💖 (9 March 1945 – 14 August 1988) (born Robert Newton Calvert), vocalist in Hawkwind from 1971 till 1973 and from 1975 till 1979, Sonic Assassins in 1977 and Hawklords from 1978 till 1979, died aged 43 📷 Erica Echenberg/Redferns, 1977, Reading, UK ©

Born March 9, 1945, in Pretoria, South Africa, Robert Calvert was a writer, poet, and musician whose creative genius left a lasting impact on the world of Progressive and Space Rock. Best known as the lyricist and frontman for Hawkwind during the 1970s, Calvert’s influence extended beyond music, blending science fiction, political satire, and experimental poetry into his work.
A dynamic and theatrical performer, Calvert brought a unique storytelling element to Hawkwind’s music, helping to define their futuristic and avant-garde sound. His contributions to albums like Quark, Strangeness and Charm (“Spirit of the Age,” “Damnation Alley,” “Quark, Strangeness and Charm” etc) and PXR5 (“Death Trap,” “Uncle Sam's on Mars,” etc) solidified his reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in the genre.
Tragically, on August 14, 1988, Calvert passed away at the age of 43 from a heart attack in Ramsgate, UK. Though gone too soon, his visionary artistry continues to inspire musicians and writers alike.

I got an old sketchbook out to fool around a bit tonight. It's not dated. 🙄 Based on what's in it, mid to late 90's. A friend had this idea for a children's book about a bunny & her pet frog & stuffed moose. It's a mixed bag.

I hope there isn't a great cosmic rule about eating your fortune cookies with your meal. 3 were tossed in my bag on Friday. I cracked open the last 1 last night. Time to get out my paints & pencils and do it. A serene moment, patience & contented mind and last nights:

Fortune cookie: A new passion will ignite your creativity
