As I’m getting my Fall classes ready, I feel grateful to have had an academic career in spite of its frustrations. I just thought that by now I’d be lecturing on things like the location of the Ark of the Covenant or the reality of vampirism.

Today I was billed for a renewed gym membership that I took out last August, but I’m not impressed with the results so far. Starting to think I might need to go there in person and see what’s going on.
In 2022, I contributed a chapter to a volume of essays that is under contract with a university press but still has no scheduled publication date. I was subsequently invited to contribute the chapter to a different volume, but had to decline; that volume is being published this month!
