WASHINGTON — Women accounted for 100 percent of the decline in the labor force in July, according to a National Women’s Law Center jobs analysis of monthly data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That brings the total net number of women who have left the labor force since January this year to 845,000. In comparison, there are 406,000 fewer men in the labor force now than in January. A total of 165,000 women, aged 20 and over, left the labor force last month — meaning they are neither working nor looking for work — while men's labor force participation was unchanged. Overall, the economy lost 23,000 jobs in July. Women accounted for all of these losses, losing 32,000 jobs, while men gained 9,000 jobs. Women make up 50.1% of the workforce.

This is just the sweetest reply to such an asshollish comment. I mean it's fine to hate a movie obviously but this sucks and Bruce Campbell is such a class act. I hate, hate, hate that he has cancer. (sorry if this is how you found out)

I liked the movie more than Emily did but this is a very good point. I also share a dislike of the dialogue (how many times, in a movie set during the Bronze Age collapse, does a character need to say to another character "The Bronze Age is collapsing"?

7. The film centers Odysseus's guilt over his war crimes, but never shows us the POV of his victims, and instead glorifies the perpetrator for feeling bad about himself. I found this unsatisfying ethically and worse, imaginatively, because Damon's character is given only one mood (Troubled).

How much thought do you suppose tech investors put into what happens if Elon dies suddenly--like from a heart attack or ket overdose or something? He has no heirs and in fact nobody can replace him even theoretically. All of his companies would collapse under the weight of reality.

Despite his turn to the far right and his companies struggling, the media still turn to him as though he was insightful things to say. Investors have put too much money behind him to fail and the media has built him up too much for him to be revealed as a fraud. disconnect.blog/elon-musks-t...

The media continues to turn to Musk for the same reason he remains so wealthy and his companies remain so highly valued despite their poor performance. Chinese auto companies are eating Tesla’s lunch, as its robotaxis are a joke and its turn to robots is little more than a marketing stunt (once again, in the face of Chinese leadership), while his rocket company remains unprofitable and his AI efforts are second rate, at best, leading SpaceX/xAI to become a neocloud provider for Anthropic — not the major player that aligns with the forward guidance that was supposed to justify the SpaceX IPO. The companies don’t crash because investors have simply put too many eggs in the Elon Musk basket. If he collapsed, they would lose billions, so his myth — or at least his position — must be maintained regardless of the economic reality of his companies. That ensures he remains powerful and wealthy enough to wreak political havoc and muse about unattainable sci-fi futures, despite not delivering on his promises to investors.

The smugness with which he insists no one was harmed and then tries to blame Bill Gates and MacKenzie Scott is ridiculous. If those two "could have" replaced the funding so too could Elon, whose net worth is more than both combined. But also, it shows a stunning lack of understanding of everything.
