Hey did you know that most of the people losing their jobs under the Trump administration are women, and that this is kind of part of the master plan? I just wrote about this and what it all has to do with big tech's common project with the populist right.
Women Aren't Invited to the AI Revolution
If you work at an office or a lab or really anywhere with computers then it’s almost certain that you’ve been pressured lately to use AI tools in your work. Your CEO is worried that the company will f...

Yikes. Women accounted for all of the job losses and all of the labor force decline in July, according to @nwlc.org

People make a lot of comparisons between Donald Trump and Biff Tannen, but no rich asshole LOOKS like Biff Tannen as much as David Ellison does
I spoke with 10 CNNers about David Ellison's essay in The NYT, in which he tried to convince the public he'll be a good steward of CNN. Suffice to say, no one at the network is buying what he's selling. “We all have eyes and ears and see what’s happening at CBS." www.status.news/p/david-elli...
An annoying thing about the internet is that this person went viral for pointing in a funny way, and I thought haha that's a funny video, and then the internet was like "glad you liked it, now you need to learn about all of her horrible opinions." no dawg I'm gonna have to stop you right there
(learning that sophie cunningham is a bench player) just like riley gaines sophie cunningham isn't one of the five best
This is just the sweetest reply to such an asshollish comment. I mean it's fine to hate a movie obviously but this sucks and Bruce Campbell is such a class act. I hate, hate, hate that he has cancer. (sorry if this is how you found out)
He's half Greek and half Filipino so the chances of Odyssey casting purists losing their minds is kind of a coin toss here

Are you telling me that my taxpayer money sometimes goes toward funding something that I may not ever personally use? This is communism times one thousand.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
I follow accounts that make my feed a bit doom-scrolly so I season it with fun accounts like this so it's like occasionally getting a marshmallow in my cereal (not that the rest of you guys aren't fun but you know what I mean)
So, I just felt compelled to say, I really, really enjoy running this account, and by and large, the folks here are super kind, supportive, funny, and respectful. I genuinely look forward to posting and engaging with you all every day. Thanks for making this so much fun 😊
This man needs to be buried under the prison
😳 RFK Jr's epic CNN crashout 😳 Dana Bash pressed RFK Jr on Trump's culpability for mishandling covid and the misinformation he pushes about vaccines, and the segment wound down with him getting mad and barking at her like a rabid dog Here's the full thing:
I used to do some work on the ethical use of satellite and drone imagery for aid and disaster response, and it is genuinely hard to express in words what a dangerous, stupid thing Google is doing by making it easy to use GenAI to create faked satellite imagery:
How to plant a nuclear plant in Iran
The question is: what on earth is Google doing?

When lab leak folks talk about it being too coincidental for Covid to have emerged independent of the virology lab, I feel like most of them are picturing Wuhan is a little rural Chinese village in the shadow of this spooky lab like Dracula's castle, when in reality, this is Wuhan
none of the lab leak tr00fers have been able to explain how the virus got into the stalls in a market that's several miles from the lab it leaked from. or why it matters if it did, which it didn't.
I liked the movie more than Emily did but this is a very good point. I also share a dislike of the dialogue (how many times, in a movie set during the Bronze Age collapse, does a character need to say to another character "The Bronze Age is collapsing"?
7. The film centers Odysseus's guilt over his war crimes, but never shows us the POV of his victims, and instead glorifies the perpetrator for feeling bad about himself. I found this unsatisfying ethically and worse, imaginatively, because Damon's character is given only one mood (Troubled).
Returns from what, the grave? That dog must be like 40 years old
We are SO back.

How much thought do you suppose tech investors put into what happens if Elon dies suddenly--like from a heart attack or ket overdose or something? He has no heirs and in fact nobody can replace him even theoretically. All of his companies would collapse under the weight of reality.
Despite his turn to the far right and his companies struggling, the media still turn to him as though he was insightful things to say. Investors have put too much money behind him to fail and the media has built him up too much for him to be revealed as a fraud. disconnect.blog/elon-musks-t...
One of the most telling things about the Musk interview is how he still can't stop segueing into how much he hates Mackenzie Scott and bizarrely refuses to stop calling him Bezos like she's still Jeff's property. Dude fucking hates women so much that he hates other billionaires' exes
The smugness with which he insists no one was harmed and then tries to blame Bill Gates and MacKenzie Scott is ridiculous. If those two "could have" replaced the funding so too could Elon, whose net worth is more than both combined. But also, it shows a stunning lack of understanding of everything.
What's crazy about this is that the interviewer is rather conservative herself, and keeps saying that she likes a lot of the stuff he and Trump did, but she she just, like, wishes they would have been more measured about it. This mild pushback still drives him into insane rage.
There's a reason Elon Musk rarely does interviews with real news outlets.
We're back to "the war ended in April"
FFS 🤦♂️ The Pentagon removed the names of 4 servicemembers who died in Jordan from their official list of casualties. They explain that this is because "their deaths occurred after President Trump declared a cease-fire in the war in April." www.nytimes.com/2026/07/23/u...
Seeing The Odyssey today. Doing my bit to destroy western civilization!
He would cast himself as Odyssius and the sex scenes with Circe would not be simulated
this is funny but disappointingly less funny than Elon Musk deciding to direct his own actual competitor movie instead would've been.
