When I see many Democrats talk, I think about one of the great texts on the rise of fascism, Daniel Guerin's prescient 1936 book Fascism and Big Business. It's chilling to examine his study of Italy and Germany. It's the story of how liberals walked society off the fascist cliff:

"The misfortune is that we have permitted the bourgeois-democrats to seize hold of anti-fascism.  These gentlemen fear the fascist whip for their own skins, but they fear the proletarian revolution as least as much…  [They] declaim against fascism but without taking a single thoroughgoing measure to attack its material roots.  [A]nd by their economic and social policies, they deepen the causes of friction between the proletariat and the middle classes; and thus they push the latter towards the very fascism from which they pretend to divert them.”

Apparently there’s a “kickoff” meeting between the DOGE people and Department of Labor management planned for tomorrow at 4pm ET. Unrelatedly, the Frances Perkins Building that houses the Dept of Labor is located at 200 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20210.
