I really wish people could avoid superficiality when talking about the (massive) housing problem in Barna. Banning short-term rentals is not a panacea, we know. But our struggle is bigger and it is, broadly, to have housing recognized as a fundamental right, rather than a for-profit commodity 1/n
perhaps one day the Spaniards will invent a technology that allows all the tourists to live in one building specifically for visitors, so they don’t have to turn old apartments into short term rentals. Then maybe they can invent a technology that allows even more neighbors to live in Barcelona too
