Technology is changing rapidly, but transparency and accountability should never be optional. That's why I've introduced the Sunshine Over Drones Act to close a loophole that allows surveillance drone technology to be deployed without the public oversight our laws were designed to require.

For years I complained that I couldn’t grow ground cover. Then they did an addition next to me and made my yard partly shady. Then this July happened. Boy oh boy do I miss the old days because this whole mowing constantly thing is for the birds.

For those who don’t know, the Urban Council is made up of me, Delishia, and Burkley, ie the top 3 vote getting who live in the USD. We meet annually immediately after the budget passes to certify the USD tax rate. Our meeting is held at the dias. All we do is sign a paper.

Oh no. I should have scrolled further. I’m so sorry. I’ve been there with flooding in my house before. And my backdoor is kind of always either swollen shut or deciding not to shut. All around shitty. Let me know if I need to pick you up on my cargo bike.

If you’re not able to find a street spot when and where you want it, can you please email TPC@nashville.gov? That way, everyone’s favorite commission can take a look at our parking management strategy for that area.

Glad to know I’m not alone in this being my Roman Empire. Over 600 citizen B&C members. Some with functionally no power (eg, Greenways). Some (eg, Parks, Benefits) run departments & oversight is not even legal. Many of the frustrations I hear from folks (& myself) are rooted in this structure. /1

From opinion columnist @betsyphillips.bsky.social: Our forebears have trapped us in a byzantine web of bureaucracy. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
