One way scammers get these details is if you reply to one of those "we tried to deliver your parcel, now you have to pay £1 to have it redirected" texts - those are less frequent now as people are more aware of them, but I nearly fell for one of those a while back. Realised before I sent the details

I think I just barely escaped a shockingly savvy scammer trying to get my bank credentials. First, whoever it was had my actual phone number, my actual bank, and the last 4 digits of my account. They sent a "was this transaction you" message that looked almost identical to the ones my bank sends.

50 years ago today, Enoch Powell was predicting racial violence with guns and bombs, and claiming that parts of Britain were so dangerous that people wouldn't go out in daylight. We stood up to the far-right lies and scaremongering then. As we see the same today, we must do the same.

RACIAL violence in Britain involv-ing guns and bombs was predicted by Enoch Powell last night. The MP suggested to a shocked House of Com-mons that it could be worse in some areas than the violence in Belfast.In some places assaults on the police were daily happen-ings, he said, and even in day-light, some people were un-willing and afraid to go out. Mr. Powell went on: "These areas are being transformed beyond all recognition. "If that picture is dark and darkening. there is one factor which has not yet been injected. "I don't know whether it will be tomorrow, next year, or in five years, but it will come and that factor is the firearm and explosive."

Ok now for something more wholesome. Some of you will know that our son is non-verbal and autistic. We've never been able to get him using PECS at home, but school have had a lot of success with it so they sent his book home for half term. He's just asked for cereal and a hug with it and I may cry.
