Miller is like a walking K-Tel record titled "Golden Classics of Domestic Violence." Track 1: "She's Crazy!" Track 2: "Those Lying Bitches" Track 3: "Parental Alienation Blues" Track 4: "Where's My Due Process?" Track 5: "Actually, She Abused Me" Track 6: "It Takes Two to Tango"

MAX MILLER: She's 2.5 years old. She doesn't have the ability to articulate what you just said. TAPPER: But you just told me that she said she was scared to go to mommy's house. Now you're saying she's not capable of saying "Daddy kill you"? MILLER: What about due process?

Kepler spent years defending circular orbits, then changed course when evidence pointed to ellipses. Fauci’s evolving view on COVID’s origin reflects the same scientific duty: update conclusions as evidence changes. That isn’t lying, it’s science correcting itself. This is how science works!

"don't make enough money" is a fig leaf All those degree programs--social work, art, etc.--have disproportionately female student bodies. This is designed to make it harder for women to attend college--college education being a key factor in women's autonomy from men & left-leaning voting pattern.

President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v

“We should return to an older and more accurate name for the Civil War: the Slaveholders’ Rebellion. If a country unquestioningly adopts language that obscures its bloodiest crimes to absolve their worst perpetrators, how can we expect successive generations to remember the new assaults on democracy

To face our own history, we must be honest about it.

Looks like it's time to fire up the old hurdy-gurdy for another rousing chorus of: 🎵MAGA is a war of men against women And Donald Trump is its Generalissimo🎵 Same tune for the better part of a decade & most Americans still can't see that violent misogyny is a *political program* supported by many.

“The president and first lady seemed totally unfazed about whether there was an abuser—another abuser—in their workplace. There was no follow-up from either of them to see if I needed help or protection. There was no investigation ordered. No effort to get to the bottom of this ....

"Our role as academics is to protect this one institution. This is why we receive tax money; why we're basically civil servants. The role of the university is even lost on many, so bears repeating: produce knowledge and educate at the highest level. AI destroys both at their core"

Olivia Guest · Ολίβια Γκεστ@olivia.science · 3d ago

If useful, here's my attempt to process my feelings about how I feel sadly kinda — or rather very — sick from all this AI fascist nonsense as an academic. 😶‍🌫️ I'd be pleased if even one person finds something useful because there's something to be said for processing this all together, so, um, enjoy?

The GOP wants to repeal no-fault divorce & women's right to vote so that violent misogynists like Max Miller can un-person us fully: they want to own women, as rape toys & punching bags. We're the majority of the population. We already have fewer rights to bodily protection than corpses & animals.

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

So much for "religious liberty"--which gave so many MAGAts the legal basis for their vaccine refusal in the first place. As with abortion bans--which violate the religious liberty of Jews, among others--it's clear that MAGA means "liberty for nutbar radicals to impose their views on the nation."

Christopher Hale@christopherjhale.bsky.social · 4d ago

NEW: Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, facing ethics inquiries for misconduct, has threatened to strip state scholarships from Catholic schools unless the Church rewrites its vaccine doctrine. It is an unprecedented attack by an American state on the religious liberty of the Catholic Church.

When is a reporter going to confront Elon Musk with this simple question: "Why are you demanding violence against immigrants when you yourself are an immigrant two times over, coming from Africa to Canada & then from Canada to the US--illegally, according to your brother Kimball?"

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social · last wk.

"First the traitors, then the invaders" is being used often on X to openly promote political violence as a legit + necessary response to immigration and diversity

Matt Bracken:
First the traitors, then the invaders.
“Always hang a traitor before you shoot an enemy”

Twombly92: People who are complaining that he spends the first half of the movie murdering white people not migrants fail to understand that it’s hammering home an important premise.

“Always hang a traitor before you shoot an enemy”

Dying at 38 of a brain tumour OTD in 1937 was one of music’s greatest tragedies. George Gershwin didn’t touch an instrument until he started piano at 10. At 20 his song Swannee sold 2m copies and he then conquered Broadway with 500 more songs. His musical achievement rocketed with his knockout 1/2

A contractor building Meta's data center flushed its "closed-loop" cooling system straight into Cheyenne's sewer. It carried a bacterium and knocked the city's water-reuse system offline for months. They sell these as sealed systems that barely touch the water. This one poisoned a city's.
