Given their multiple Millenia long lifespans and lack of need for sleep, Elves in Meat Space will often become dedicated to a singular project in their lives, working only on that until it is complete and perfect, only then moving on to another multi decade or century long work.
In Gnomish Culture it is a sign of good manners and respect to perform the Rites of Returning by stealing small low value items and returning them later.
