A little schedule update! I'm currently working on a 4-animation series, due for completion mid-2026, and then will be taking a short sabbatical through August. I'm available for new projects starting Sept. 2026. Happy to have chats between now and then about funding applications. Drop me a line!

I haven’t been here in awhile so here’s a re-introduction! I’m Stacy, 51, queer, inclusive feminist. I am a contemporary jeweller in Glasgow as well as a visual communicator specialising in research led animations and illustrations that build empathy and understanding. Glad to be back!
From the bench this week: this banded murmuration zoetrope ring! This is the prototype. I’ll be fine tuning before releasing it into my upcoming collection. Really pleased with it so far!
I’m opening commissions! For the first time ever, you can work with me to create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery in recycled sterling silver — a pendant, ring, or brooch made just for you (or someone you love). Slots are limited, so DM me if you’re curious! I’d love to make something with you!
Friends! I’m so excited to finally share this piece with you! (had to wait for the commissioner to surprise their partner.) The learning curve was steep! I’ve never made a brooch before! I'll be re-making this piece as a statement necklace for my upcoming murmuration collection so watch this space!
I am THRILLED with the way this ring turned out! It represents a huge learning curve and about 16 hours of labour. It’s the most technically challenging piece I’ve made yet and I’m so proud. Murmuration Ring. It will be for sale in my forthcoming collection in a few month’s time. #handmadejewelry
Yes, well. There’ll be no living with me now. 🤣 The solder gods were with me today. Piece needs more work but I didn’t melt any birbs and I’m so pleased with the result! I’ll patina the interior so the birds stand out! Pendant or statement ring? What do you think? I can’t decide. #handmadejewelry
I’m honestly so surprised I managed to pull this off! Look how tiny! And I managed to texture them semi-realistically! Fingertip for size reference. If i manage to solder these on their base today without melting them, I will become an insufferable human being. 🤣 #handmadejewelery
Per my recent eye appointment, gramma’s reached ‘a pair of readers’ years old. Keepin’ it specsy over here with a second pair of glasses and hard candies in my purse.
Packing up my first ever silver jewellery order (!!) and trying to be cool about it but absolutely failing. 🤩 Can’t believe things I made WITH MY HANDS are heading off to their new homes! Huge thanks to the people who made this milestone possible. More pieces coming soon! #silversmith #indieJeweler
So excited to ship out my first ever jewellery orders today!! 🥰🥰 Was just waiting on this last important piece to include to help keep the silver shiny over time! #jewelrymaking #handmadejewelry #metalsmithing
I am just OVER THE MOON excited to launch my flagship silver pendant design! She’s the first piece of jewellery I’m putting out in the world and I love what she represents. A moment of peace, joy, and self-love. Just what we all need to give ourselves right now. 🥰🥰 stacybias.net/product-cate...
Dreamt up the perfect t-shirt: “I LOVE YOU” in bold with “R DOG” in grey underneath. (I LOVE YOUR DOG.) I'ma Genius! Woke up ready to start my new t-shirt empire — turns out, it already exists. 😂 All the thoughts have already been thunk. Foiled again!
Day 4 without WiFi. Storm Eowyn has me haunting BT's customer service line like a victorian child ghost. I've resorted to watching DVDs of All Creatures Great & Small (1987, natch) whilst tethering my iPhone to upload client files so slowly it feels like a personal attack. I'm GenX. I can do this!
This is a lovely starter pack of artists and artisans. If you want a feed full of soothing slow makes and beautiful things to balance the doom, follow all: go.bsky.app/C74PDjU
1st day at my new jewellery studio desk rental and y’all! I can’t believe how well this turned out. Copper prototype for a piece I’ll eventually make in silver. Still needs refining and patina but I’m so pleased. Might enamel the back to make it wearable as it’d be a shame to waste it. #silversmith
As a queer American expat, I want to use the privilege of living abroad to support my community. For the next year, if you’re an Org or researcher serving the LGBTQIA+ community (UK/USA), I’ll meet your project budget. WHATEVER it is. Animation, illustration, answer's yes: pay what you can. DM me.
Inspired by Abigail Lamb's 2025 manifestation illustration, I drew up my own Project Wishlist. Hoping for more hand-drawn projects, collaborative, participant-led processes, joyful and/or LGTBQIA+ themes, & empathy-building work in 2025! More important than ever to be intentional in work & life. ❤️
Just signed the contract on my new silversmithing desk share in Glasgow! Met my deskmate over WhatsApp and figured out our schedules align perfectly for sharing. *And* my basic tool setup arrived this morning. SO EXCITED to get started! Training wheels are off! Many ideas & so much practicing to do!
Fridays are my jewellery skillbuilding day. I spent today designing this murmuration piece to be saw-pierced from a single sheet of silver. It feels like the perfect metaphor for how I’ve been feeling the last few days. We’re all made of the same stuff and we’re breathtaking when we move together.
Queer friends, please don't leave all social media platforms w/o making an inclusive plan for retaining connections. If we become reactive & isolated by our ethics, we cease to gather &/or organise globally. Especially important for disabled/chronically ill people for whom online connection is key.
In 2024, I focused on mastering 2D character rigging, inc. lip sync, blink rigs, & 180° turns. This lets me create more realistic, relatable characters. Relatability builds connection, and connection holds interest! When we care about characters, we invest. Looking forward to learning more in 2025!
Belated 2024 year in review! 🎉 * Lost Voices of Partition shown in 14 film festivals-a personal best! * Completed 6 animations + 1 illustration (health comms & public education). * Advanced skills in character rigging + lip syncing! * Topics: Antibiotic resistance, anti-racism, stroke recovery.
In October, I made the manatee pendant; by December, the wild swimmer. In 2 months, I learned to work at half the size-a huge challenge! Smaller pieces melt more easily & steadying a ball burr at 25k RPM isn’t easy. I’m proud of my first year’s progress and excited for what’s next! #Silversmithing
My latest animation with @peterhopkins.bsky.social is live! It highlights Nancy Kline’s "Thinking Environments," facilitating creative and empowered solutions through empathic listening. Proud to support @newcastleuni.bsky.social Doctoral training! #CreativeDissemination
Generating 'Thinking Environments'

A new animation about how to generate a 'Thinking Environment' (inspired by the work of Nancy Kline). Thanks to @newcastleuni.bsky.social Doctoral College for funding this and the superb @stacybias.bsky.social for amazing animation skills. Enjoy ... youtu.be/p0WgEvxNNH8?...
Y’all! I am so proud of myself! This was difficult. From mockup to completion, making this wild swimming pendant took about 16 hours & a lot of trial and error. It’s not perfect but it’s better technique than the last piece & working smaller is harder. It’s such a joy to hold it finished in my hand!
One time my partner and I drove past a man and his little Staffy coming out of a chip shop. The man was carrying a greasy bag & SO WAS THE STAFFY -clutched happily in her teeth. Both were toodling off towards home w/ their snacks, tails wagging. I think about them a weird amount. <3 #DopamineBoost
Today I want to use this animation to highlight how an animation designed specifically for one audience (in this case crematoria/cemetery designers/managers) can also speak to the general public in ways that build social cohesion and empathy. #ResearchImpact www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1NU...

I'm so pleased to have a little snippet published in Five Minute Lit today. I loved the challenge presented by their micro-format; finding the resonance in such a tight temporal and literary space. Lovely editorial experience as well. Writers, do submit! www.fiveminutelit.com/five-minutes...
