The annual Kirking of the Council parade returns to Inverness on Sunday 13 September. Led by City of Inverness Pipe Band starting at 10.30 and travels to Ness Bank Church for 11am service, which is open to all. Temporary road closures will be in place between approx. 10.30 and 12.25. 👇️

Dingwall & Seaforth Area Committee has approved the Winter Service Plan for 2026/27, ensuring gritting routes, salt stocks and winter preparations are in place ahead of severe weather.

Plans to improve bus services across Highland are moving forward. The Highland Council's Economy and Infrastructure Committee has agreed to launch a 12-week public consultation on a proposed Bus Service Improvement Partnership.

Councillors have approved a public consultation on draft guidance to help reduce light pollution and protect our internationally recognised dark skies. From supporting wildlife and wellbeing to reducing energy use and strengthening dark sky tourism, your views will help shape future policy.

The barrier work on the A832 #Dundonnell has now been completed, and the road is fully open again.

The Highland Council are inviting parents, children and members of the public to attend a meeting next week to discuss the Proposal to Relocate Plockton Primary School. The meeting will be held at Plockton High School at 7pm on Wednesday 26th August 2026.
