What a sad state our country is in when the Senate has to debate whether a President’s former personal lawyer—who has led the burying of the Epstein Files and promised to make Trump immune from tax crimes—should be our nation’s highest law enforcement officer.

UPDATE: At 9:15am, former US Capitol Insurrection prosecutors will have press conference with Senators to discuss the "refusal of Trump Administration judicial nominees to acknowledge the results of the 2020 election or admit that what happened on January 6"

Fox Propaganda wanted President Obama in jail for ObamaCare and called President Biden a dictator for trying to erase student debt, but haven’t said one word about the orange felon trying to fund Jan 6 terrorists, protecting pedos or committing money laundering. Funny how that works.

This plane landed in Myanmar about three hours ago. This is the third ICE flight to Myanmar this year. Burmese deportees in 2025 were immediately sent to a torture facility next to the airport, according to Myanmar Now. Weeks later, not all of them had emerged.

Frances Perkins was the patron saint of American workers and an inspiration for me during my time as labor secretary. She was the guiding light behind the creation of Social Security, the 40-hour workweek, the National Labor Relations Act, and much more.

Today's Prospect Patriot is Frances Perkins. She saw the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory go ablaze in 1911 and her life changed. "The New Deal was born that day," she said. 22 years later she'd be America's first female cabinet member. prospect.org/2026/08/04/a...

Unbelievable. Republicans in the Senate are set to confirm Todd Blanche, Trump’s former personal lawyer, to be Attorney General even after he told them the deal the DOJ struck giving Trump and his businesses broad immunity from crimes still stands.

A 60 Minutes probe into Epstein's banking, with Wyden already interviewed, vanished right after Sharyn Alfonsi got pushed out under Bari Weiss. Same editor who stalled the CECOT migrant story until Stephen Miller got a say. CBS keeps calling it timing. Sure looks like a pattern.

As of now, 44 people have been reported injured in the massive Russian strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Another 17 people, tragically, were killed.
My condolences to their families and loved ones.
It was a heavy strike - 24 ballistic missiles, 4 Zircon/Oniks missiles, and another 115 drones, a significant number of them jet-powered. The main targets of the attack were warehouse facilities belonging to civilian businesses. There were also strikes on infrastructure and a railway station. These facilities had nothing to do with the war - a brewing company, construction materials warehouses, and civilian logistics tacilities.
Ballistic missile interceptors could have saved the lives of those killed today. It is very important that our partners understand that delays in supplying them, or an unwillingness to provide anti-ballistic systems, lead directly to such horrific casualties and destruction. Partners who are not yet ready to play a more active role in supplying interceptors can help by implementing new sanctions. A significant share of Russia's ballistic missile production is still not under sanctions. Even now. New steps are needed - from the G7, the European Union, and everyone who supports the protection of life. Thank you to those who are willing to help in this way.
